#Repost @jermainegreen_: "We have to seek to be intimate with Christ, and to learn our value in Him first and foremost. Otherwise, we may always find ourselves selling ourselves short with people who draw us further away from Him instead of helping us to draw closer to Him. BREAKING THE VESSEL. When investing time in a man/woman has you hitting the breaks on your prayer life, your praise, your studying, your fasting, your church attendance, your seeking the Lord for who He is, guess what? There are now cracks in your vessel. All that God has poured into you will slowly begin to spill out thru those cracks. It won't all waste at once, the devil is too deceitful for that. It's a slow leak that leaves you under the impression that nothing is wrong, but really your love for God is waxing cold, day by day. Until one day you find yourself totally removed from the will of God, and out of love with Jesus. Still got love in your heart for Him but you're not IN LOVE with Him like you once were. Hot, lukewarm, cold! That's the backslide, and it happens EVERYDAY! Never let your desire for a mate come between you and your love for Jesus. Instead, invest your feelings and intimacy in Christ. If/when He gives you a mate, He will lead and instruct you on how to love them. This is when we can say, "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Because it was all HIS doing, and not our own. This keeps us from being distracted and drawn away by our own lusts, desiring a spouse more than salvation. This also helps us not to choose to be with people whose influence takes us further from Jesus instead of closer to Him." #goodword #truth #foodforsoul
