Google last week announced the startups that will be participating in its third Launchpad Accelerator Africa programme.

This third cohort sees new 12 startups from six African countries – Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda — come under Launchpad Accelerator Africa

インドネシアのニュースアプリのKurioが、日本のグノシーから500万米ドルを資金調達

日本のGame8、韓国のPikicastに続き、グノシーから他メディアへの資金注入が活発化しているようです。 インドネシアのニュースアプリのKurioが、日本のグノシーから500万米ドルを資金調達

インドネシアのニュースリーダーアプリである Kurio は3月15日、シリーズBラウンドで日本の提携先であるグノシーから500万米ドルを獲得したと発表した。同社の評価額は1,200万米ドルとなる。

グノシーは昨年東京市場で株式公開し、スタートアップ数社に投資してきた。東南アジア規模での活動を目標とする Kurio にとって、最適なパートナーである。

この提携により、Kurio は同社サービスから利益をあげることも可能となる。

TechCrunch の報道によると、Kurio は東南アジア市場参入の手始めとしてローマ字言語を使用しているシンガポールとマレーシアの提携先候補にコンタクトを取り始めていた。非ローマ字言語の国では追加のリソースが必要となるためである。
