Women in Mahabharata - Gopali
She is a woman belonging to the aahira-gopa community.
When, after returning from his tapasya, Shaishiraayana Garga is mocked again by the Yadavas, he accosts and assaults Gopali, in an effort to 'prove his manhood', resulting in the birth of a child who he then gives to a king of the Yavanas who in turn names him Kalayavana.
Kalayavana later becomes a formidable ally of Jarasandha, and is only removed from the field by Krishna who most probably tricks him into walking into a particularly hot spring of similar.
