|Always the New Beginnings|
* Character: Gor *
What is this.. The man stumbled, grasping for his footing. The sounds of whining sirens filled his ears. Incoherent shouting of men and children’s delightful squeals distant in his ears. The man gripped at his temples, his brow twisting in discomfort, his heartbeat heavy in his ears, a dulled pain wrapping around the crown of his head. Where am I..
The man stood six feet.. Almost seven. A mountain of a man, built in strength and wonder. His vision blurred, gradually coming into focus. The visions of a city, hundreds of humans bustling about their business, caretakers ushering children about the dirt of the urban life with skyscrapers for background. This all was new again, the humans looked different, yet still familiar.
Once to his feet the man stumbled his first few steps, gradually becoming stable and alert to steady his movements-- to blend in with his surroundings. The massive man wore a charcoal gray suit, the fine tailored fabric soiled in what seemed to be soot, dirt, and unidentifiable dark marks. But where from? His shoes once fine italian leather, now tattered, ridden with holes and stitches pulling out everywhere.
These streets were foul. The smell of urine mixed with exhaust, gasoline and other odd unidentifiable smells brewed in the air and sat on the nose like the nuisance of a fly. The vehicles whirred by fast in the streets, the busses slowly chugging along the edges of the streets humans jumping in and out of these tanks of transportation. Everyone looked the same and yet different. Skin colors varied, heights and sizes interchangeable, even as acute as the shapes of the humans eyes.. Were all different. This wasn’t like this last home.. This was like what they called a melting pot back home.. Melting pot.
As realization started to hit him, his heart began to thud.. Thump.. Faster.. And faster.. His eyes darting around at the landscape before him. The busses.. They read MUNI.. stairs leading into the ground seemed to be identified by their signs reading BART and METRO. The near by tall building read Embarcadero and when he turned, there it was. The grand Ferry Building. Across the large ornate architecture, just before the Tall Clock tower read “SAN FRANCISCO” in bold life size letters.
Gor almost lost it; if not for fury it was panic. What had happened!? Everything was going so well and… Going so well.. That was it. It was just going all too well. As soon as he was close to finding the love he so craved and deserved, his father found a way to pull it away with an instant. One click of the heels or snap of the fingers and once again Anaxagoras life was in shambles. Once more he would have to build from the ground up. Search for the clues and find her once again. Find the love he has been chasing for centuries. Though this time would be different; this time he will find her, and this time they will gain their happy ever after. No matter what it takes. Gor was going to establish his life with his princess. No more meddling into his life path. This cycle was going to end and it was going to end in this city. The city of… What’s it called again. His eyes turning back to focus on the letter upon the building. The city of San Francisco.
