Ray Sim and Gordon Dick
This 9 ft totem pole was commissioned by the Pacific Coast University in Port Alberni, BC. It is known as Uushtaquu, or Medicine Man by the First Nations. Ray Sim designed and carved it with Gordon Dick. The pole is made from Red Cedar and acrylic with glass and bark. There is a rattle in his left hand and a crystal necklace strand in the other. On the bottom of the pole is the Frog who helps Uushtaquu find certain plants for his medicine.
