“You know, Chat Noir,” she said, holding his tooth between her fingers. “This is what happens when you don’t shut up.”
Ladybug pulled the string of her yo-yo tighter around Chat Noir, watching him squirm like a stuck pig. Serves him right, she thought to herself. It felt good to watch him struggle.
“Please, I’m sorry, I didn’t- I was just— I didn’t mean to—“
“You don’t mean to do anything, Chat Noir!” She screamed at him. “And yet you do. You always fail! And I’m done with giving you chances.”
Chat struggled in his binds, hoping that somewhere there would be a camera hidden in the bushes or a person filming off to the side that at least made it obvious that this was all just another prank. Maybe even an akuma? At least an akuma would distract his lady, maybe make her forget about how much of an idiot he was and how useless he was to her. …Any minute now… Right?
Chat felt uncomfortable tears roll down his cheek and Ladybug seemed to pinch his tooth even harder.
“Please, my lady,” he struggled to plead with her. “I’m sorry, it’s all my fault.”
“Call me ‘My Lady’ one more fucking time. I dare you.”
So he didn’t. He didn’t say a word. Chat didn’t even breathe. He just stared into Ladybug’s frenzied crimson eyes and begged for his life.
And she ripped his tooth out anyways.
“Hah! You should see the look on your face!”
He was left to tremble on the floor, clutching his mouth in his hands. The nerve was half dangling out the open gash in his gums, the other half already severed and hanging onto the tooth in Ladybug’s hand. She twisted it between her fingers like it was a precious jewel, smirking at it.
“Maybe you’ll finally learn your lesson this time, won’t you? I’m tired of explaining things to you, you know. Over and over and over again.”
Tears mixed with blood in Chat’s open palms. He couldn’t bear to look at her—look at anyone. Even breathing in would send shockwaves down his spine, the lightest inhale feeling like hot knives against the exposed nerve. The punishment was apt, in a way: He couldn’t bring himself to even cry, much less speak.
“Oh come on, Crybaby Noir,” she scoffed, the sight of him curled up on the ground and sobbing quickly losing its comedy. “It’s only a tooth. I can fix it for you, right? 'Miraculous Ladybug'?”
Biting his lips closed, Chat just looked up to her and shook his head “No” like a stupid little kid. He didn’t want to know what fixing it would feel like if she’d already put him through this. He couldn’t even bring himself to think about going home, either. Detransforming. As far as it hurt, Chat was sure he’d live out the rest of his life in that very spot, writhing in pain until he finally bled out.
Waiting for a response, Ladybug picked up her yo-yo and shook it at him like she was presenting a toy. “Does Kitty want his tooth back?”
Chat Noir answered, again, with a shaking head and a whimper.
“Come one, ‘Your Lady’ wants to help you,” she smiled. “I promise it won’t hurt a bit."
It did hurt, he knew it, the last time she’d used this trick on him he’d been forced to feel every second of his fingers un-break into place, the pain even greater every time it happened. He didn’t want her to do it, he didn’t want her to do it, he didn’t want her to.
Chat clamped his hands shut over his mouth, crawling back into a corner. Ladybug bent down, holding her yo-yo to his jaw like a loaded weapon.
