gorge walk at point lookout, north stratbroke island. marveling at ocean views and wildlife abound.

the bushland and waters surrounding the north gorge walk are teeming with wildlife. you can watch kangaroos and seabirds galore, and under the right conditions the clear water allows to spot turtles, dolphins and manta rays. due to its exposed location this area is also considered the best vantage point on stratbroke island to watch humpback whales pass in their mígration season (between june and november).

the 1,5 km long hike offers stunning vistas over gorges and beaches. it is easiliy accessible and safe to walk with little kids, a fenced boardwalk with wooden stairs and bridges forms a picturesque, conveniently walkable loop (not strollerfriendly though!)

der schluchtenweg am point lookout, north stratbroke island. hier kann man tolle meerblicke und eine reiche tierwelt bestaunen.

im busch und im wilden wasser tuemmelt es hier nur vor tieren: an land kann man kaenguruhs und zahlreiche meeresvoegel beobachten, im klaren wasser des ozeans lassen sich unter den richtigen bedingungen oft schildkroeten, delfine und mantarochen erblicken. wegen seiner exponierten lage gilt dieses areal darueber hinaus auch als bester aussichtspunkt der insel, um buckelwale in der migrationssaison zu beaobachten (zwischen juni und november).

der 1,5 km lange rundweg bietet zahlreiche, spektakulaere ausblicke ueber felsschluchten und straende. er ist durchweg gut erschlossen, gesichert und umzaeunt, der bohlenweg mit seinen hoelzernen bruecken und aussichtsplattfomen ist huebsch anzusehen und auch mit kindern leicht zu erwandern (wegen der vielen stufen allerdings nicht buggyfreundlich!).

Gorge Walking or Wild Swimming (?) at Wales Outdoors SECRET Location! Yes! Finally some decent footage of my most favouritest of venues. It's like a gorge walk but it's not. It's like wild swimming but it's not. There are a few jumps, a few floats down narrow, steep sided canyons, a few swims and a couple of 'legs in front get taken by the water' drops over small waterfalls... It's AMAZING!
