BlackBird visits Gorgossium and sees the sights.
Day 5 drawn while in a very sleepy state.
The Hags Visitor #16
The silver needle pierced fabric and flesh alike, binding them together with enchanted string. Mater Motley's joints ached from the constant repetitive motion of sewing the stitchling in her hands. She set the unfinished creature on her lap and dipped her fingers into the black flames she kept close by. It seared her flesh, any normal person would have recoiled in agony. The hag, however, did not even flinch, the flames did not bother her after countless times placing her hands in its scorching embrace. After a minute or so her aching joints felt fresh and nimble, she continued to sew her monstrosities in the comfort of the twelfth tower. Her chambers were extravagantly decorated with deep purples and reds. A huge fire place warmed the frigid room with green flames. The arm chair she sat in was tall, covered in royal purple velvet, with wooden arms and legs. The wood was engraved with all manner of beasts, the ends of the arms two roaring creatures that looked as though they would come to life. It had been some time since she had gone to visit her ungrateful grandson, Christopher Carrion. She had warned him of the dangers she had for seen in her dreams, though she knew Carrion did not see any trouble on the horison. "Stupid, stupid, child." She growled under her breath. "I will not see our plans ruined because he refuses to see sense." Her hands moved more quickly as her irritation grew. Then she heard three deliberate knocks on the door, looking up she snarled. "What is it? What do you want?" A small woman clad in a black dress with a black veil covering her face, entered the room and bowed. It was Razza, the latest addition to the hags inner sewing circle. "What is it child?" "My lady, someone is here to see you." Mater motley narrowed her eyes. "Is it my grandson?" The small woman shook her head. "Well then who is it?" "they will not say my lady, just that they must see you, and that It is urgent." The hag stopped her sewing. "Really now?" Her tone was irritated, the insolence of this stranger angered her, She stood." I hope whoever they are knows exactly who they are requesting to speak to." Normally the hag would have had the person killed and disposed of, but she had felt an explosion of energy unlike she had ever felt just hours before. It frustrated her to no end that she could not determine where the disturbance came from. This visit was no coinsedence, something big was happening, and her and Carrion were in the middle of it; weather he was aware of it or not. Mater motley Lifted the front hem of her doll dress, she followed Razza down countless flights of steps to where the visitor was waiting. Meter motley caught glances of gorgossium through the tiny thin windows that periodically dotted the staircase. The night was still, no creature stirred or sang their ghastly songs. No even they had felt the immense wave of power that washed over the island, and we're silenced by its magnitude. Razza had remained silent throughout the decent, hands folded neatly in front of her. "Something bothers you child, what is it?" The small woman pursed her lips together, not wanting to voice her concerns. "I said speak child, you do not need to fear me." Razza nodded. "We have felt a large gathering of power, as you have no doubt." The hag did not respond to the statement. "Then, hours later this strange person appears requesting my lady's presence. They refuse to speak to any of the inner circle. I have a bad feeling about all of this." The girl was observant, one of the qualities the hag required among her inner circle. "I agree, something has been awakened. Something not even I can see, we must tread carefully sister. the desicions we make from here on out may determine our fate." Razza glared wide eyes for just a moment, then regained her composure. "I thought as much my lady, our decisions may even effect the outcome of the coming war." To this mater motley did not respond, for she had come to this conclusion as well. The two women came up to the hallway where the intruder was being held. They approached the wooden door and opened it, entering into the small room. The visitor wore a black cloak with a deep hood that completely covered their face. They waited paitently, as a small group of mater motley's inner circle kept a cautious eye on them. The hag tried to feel out what kind of creature this intruder was. When she reached out with her mind she felt nothing, as if the person before her was non exsistant. "It is useless to try, Thant Yaelah Carrion, just as I have told your sisters it is useless." The voice was a near whisper, yet it seemed to fill the room like a clap of thunder. Unimpressed the hag straitened, defiant to this inturder. "Who are you? Why have you come to my tower at midnight?" The being swung it's head back and fourth, taking in everyone. "Send them away." The women of mater motley's circle glared at the being with mixtures of indifference and disbelife. "What you would say to me, you can say to them." The being shook it's head. "I am not saying they are untrustworthy, but what I have to say is for your ears alone, or not at all." This imposter was testing her patients, she could feel the rage boiling up through her feet into her chest, but her expression remained flat and emotionless. "who are you to come to the most powerful witch of the abarat, and make these demmands?" The being tilted it's head slightly, considering what she said. "I am someone who can help you fulfill your goal of conquering the islands." "How do you know of our plan?" "I know many things, such as how your absolute midnight can be obtained much more quickly than you planned." It sounded too good to be true, and in Mater Motley many years on the islands, she learned that things such as this came with a price. " what do you want in return for this information?" The being remained quiet, narrowing her eyes she waved her hand. "Leave us." Reluctantly the witches bowed and made their way out of the room, Razza was the only one who stayed put. The hag looked down at the tiny woman. "I said leave us child, did you not hear me?" Razza looked from mater motley to the stranger. "Pardon me my lady, but I do not think it wise to be alone with this person, whoever they are." Unmoved the hag waved dissmisively. "Your concern is noted, now leave or you will soon come to regret disobeying me." Pursing her lips together the small woman bowed, apologised, and made her way out of the room. The intruder waited until the door had closed, then lifted their arms to the massive hood covering their face. The cloth slipped down the wrist, revealing grey-ish blue skin, long boney fingers tipped with razor sharp claws, they pushed the hood back so it fell away from their face. "Now that we are alone we may speak freely." The hag did not flinch at the sight of this monstrosity. She had seen so many sights throughout her lifetime, it took quite a bit more then that to shock her. "What are you?" She demanded. "I am from beyond the stars." The hag looked supiciously at the strange creature before her. "Prove it." The intruder looked at the old woman ammused, then lifted one clawed finger. "We have been watching the islands since their creation, We have seen the rise and fall of kings, profits, and powers. We have watched your family line since your ancestors built the first tower, untill you burned your children alive." The hag waved a hand dismissively. "Anyone can make such outlandish claims, You are proving nothing." Raising where an eyebrow should have been the intruder lowered their finger, just leaving a closed fist in the air. All of the light in the room went out at once. Mater Motley did not budge. "What trickery is this? If you waste my time I will have you strung up and gutted." A chuckle echoed from all directions. "Like how you gutted you mother and father?" A dim light appeared a few feet away from the hag, she blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the light. A grizzly scene came into focus, it was Mater Motley, only she was young, In her early twenties. She was holding a ceremonial blade in her right hand, her blood spattered face had a wild ear to ear grin. Crazed and bloody as she was, there was no doubting her beauty. She often lured men to their doom with simply a glance in their direction. Her jet black hair fell in silky perfect waves, her flawless skin pale and supple. The red of her lips a stark and beautiful. The hag remained quiet, her unamused expression unyielding. The scene shifted to her first husband choking to death on his own vomit as mater motley sat in an extravagant chair sipping hobarukian wine from a goblet. Again the colors blurred together then came into foucus, her private tourcher chamber full of bloody corpses and moaning victims. "We have watched you grow in power and rank, we have seen all the sins you have committed." The colors focused on a burning castle, screams echoing across a flameing orchard as Mater Motley held a small child swaddled in her arms. "You have proven your point."the hag said waving her hand uninrtested. The darkness dissappated and the creature came back into foucus. "So what do you want in return for my midnight?" The inturder smirked, sharp yellow stained teeth glinting in the dim light. "Strait to the point then, I belive we will get along just fine. There is a boy in the employment of your grandson, he is an inconvenience to us. Kill him, and your midnight will be assured." "A boy?" The hag scoffed. "That is all?" The creature lifted it's hood to re-cover it's face. "He is harder to exterminate than you think." The being nodded. "I must take my leave, I have other responsibilities to attend to." The creature extended its arm open palm facing up. A small black crystal lay in the groove of its palm, the black orb rose from its hand and floated over to rest in Mater Motleys. "When you have killed the boy place this in his mouth." She looked at the small object curiously. "What will this do?" A deep chuckle filled the room. "It will devour his soul." And with that the creature walked to a dark shadow in the corner of the room and dissappated into it. Rolling the small black ball between her fingers she examined it's exterior, it was smoothe, the light reflected off of its surface. She placed it in the folds of her dress, and exited the room. Her sisters were waiting paitently with their hands clasped in front of them. The hag raised her lip in a snarl. "Find out what boy my grandson has recently employed. I want his name, where he comes from, and who his family is." One of the women nodded, bowed and took her leave. "Sisters I belive our absolute midnight may be closer that we think." They remained quiet as the hag began to walk down the hall, contemplating all the creature from beyond the stars had told her. Razza followed the hag quietly keeping pace, after a moment Mater Motley noticed her presence. "Speak child." "Can this stranger be trusted my lady?" "Trust is irrelevant girl, we are operating off of mutual gain. I can provide something they obviously can not accomplish, they can aid us in our work." The small woman thought on this for a moment. "You still have much to learn Razza, keep you eyes open, your ears alert, and your mind focused. Now go, I have much to do, and little time to do it." The small woman bowed and left the hag to her thoughts.
I don't know if you'll get this because I think tumblr might be eating my messages to you and we haven't spoken in ages and I hope you don't hate like most people end up hating me okay I'm sorry I'll do what I came here for now. Okay, 3 and 5 please.
I got tagged, Thanks, Gorgossium.
What’s the last book you read and did you enjoy it? Let's see, the last book I read was The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. And Yes, I did enjoy it. It's a book about a boy with Asperger's, and when I was tested for it after my brother was diagnosed with Asperger's, I was told that I was borderline Asperger's, so reading that book was like talking with my brother.
What’s the last movie you watched and was it good? Well, the last movie that I watched was Tangled, although I had seen it before. The last new movie that I saw would have to be...trying to remember what we got recently on netflix...Oh, no the last movie that I watched for the first time was this awful Christmas one about twin penguin princesses who went on a quest to find Santa Clause. It was downright awful.
Do you get on well with your parent(s)? Yes. And no. My parents are divorced. I am best friends with my dad. I couldn't live without him. I couldn't care less if I ever saw my mother again. I don't want anything to do with her. And I get along pretty well with my step-mom. We haven't fought ever. And she pays for my schooling, so I'm very grateful to her for that.
Other than English, what language(s) are you fluent in? Fluent? No. I know some Spanish from a year and a half of junior high classes before I moved to a school district that had no proper language programs, so I gave up on that. Beyond that, I know...a few words from various fictional languages.
What is your favourite piece of clothing that you own? This huge black skater hoodie that I got when I was in 7th grade. I drowned in it then, but now, it's perfect to hide under while performing nighttime shenanigans, cause I can make myself look like a rock with it.
Where are you from? Up until...8th grade, I lived in northern Utah. I'm still a Utahn at heart, although I also consider myself an Idahoan, and most recently a Virginian, where I am now.
Do you have/want any tattoos? Nope. I'm a goody two-shoes Mormon. No tattoos for me.
What is your idea of the perfect date? Honestly, the few one on one dates I've had were very very awkward. So, the perfect date would be a group date with a bunch of friends and we'd be doing something random/active/creative, like a scavenger hunt, or just playing board games with a movie playing in the background.
What is your favourite thing about yourself? mmm, physically, it's a tie between my hair and boobs. And trying to figure out the favorite characteristic is hard. I'd have to say staying positive while being versatile. Really, that's a hard question, because there are few things that I honestly don't like about myself. If I can think of any.
What age do you get mistaken for? 12. Do you know how funny it is when I'm in a drive thru at McDonald's and the cashier asks me if I'm old enough to drive?
Where would you like to live? Utah. I miss the mountains.
The rules said to tag people, but I'm gonna break it.
