Gorguts - Considered Dead - 1991
Cover Art by Dan Seagrave.
Gorguts Quebec, Canada 1989-1993 band photos, performance still, and their 1993 sophomore LP, "The Erosion of Sanity"
One of the earliest examples of Canadian extreme metal, and technical death metal period.
From a scene that would later birth similar classic bands such as Cryptopsy and Martyr, this album is essential.
Strange riffs, ghoulish solos and a minor amount of experimentation culminate on this to produce a slow, battering form of tech-death.
Such a dense composition paired with the so-iconic Dan Seagrave art clears this as an invaluable artifact of early 90s death metal.
please listen to it 100 times if you haven't already....
