DAY 7
The character randomly chosen today is Goro Sanjou! A part of the 2015 New Idol Discovery Audition campaign in MobaM, Goro is a former childcare worker who aimed to become an idol in order to atone for the hearts he had stolen. Unfortunately, he did not pass the audition. however, it is shown in one of Nao's ingame magazines that he had become a children's book author, still keeping his dream of making people happy, just doing it in a different way.
FUN FACT: all 9 of the new discovery audition idols are somewhat based/inspired on historical figures. Goro is no different as he takes inspiration from Ishikawa Goemon.
being honest i wish i could have given him a more dynamic pose/something to do other than just look to the side but his hair was giving me so much trouble lol. i decided to fill in his eyes instead of just simplifying them like i usually do for these drawings and i think that looks good here.
i'm excited to draw the new discovery idols who didn't win, i think they are very interesting characters in term of concept and design and i find it fascinating and cool that legenders was basically a fan voted unit that became completely canon. i always wonder what units involving the other 6 would have looked like and who would voice each character, what their music would have been like, etc. it's an interesting part of sidem history for sure.
