Hey, if it's not a problem, could you give us some headcannons on some Beastars characters as well, please?
Yeah, I'd love to! These are getting long though so under the read more it goes.
L.egoshi: He's a big dumb dog. Hunger and horny mix together to the point that he can't tell them apart. Accidental vore/Losing himself to instinct/Being easily convinced to eat others all lend themselves very well to this. But also I think he'd eat others for people he cares about, too--for instance, to protect them or to make himself more cuddly. On the flip side, he's really easy to convince to be willing prey for those he cares deeply about, tail wagging the whole way down. And while there are certainly instances where he could be unwilling prey, he'll be very whiny and submissive once he realizes that stomachs are much sturdier than they appear.
L.ouis: An herbivore that thinks himself equal if not greater than carnivores is going to act as such. Might take some time to get over the bellyaches but he'll get used to meat eventually. He'd probably consume carnivores near exclusively, though I don't think he'd deny himself the indulgence to snack on fellow herbivores if the mood strikes him. He's very defiant as prey, always going down fighting and making a big show of his resistance. Not very useful against your average carnivore but he refuses to make himself an easy meal. He'll shout and kick to the very end and do his best not to let his fear shine through.
R.iz: I like to think his philosophy on eating others is similar to how he tries to cope with T.em's death in canon--by believing that he's joined his prey together with him and they're now one. Sure, eating for him is still based on hunger and instinct, and he's definitely someone who'll stuff himself silly...but he still thinks what he's doing is a good thing. The right thing, even. Doesn't mean he won't go down fighting if someone were to turn the tables on him, though the hypocrisy will be lost on him. He'll settle down eventually once he's fully sealed away unless his predator did something to really piss him off. Or happened to be an herbivore...
B.ill: It's all about dominance for him. He's a big, tough carnivore--why shouldn't he eat like one, too? Doesn't have to be reserved to just herbivores, either! Smaller or weaker carnivores are below the food chain for him (though so is everyone else if you ask him) so he won't hesitate to put them in their place, too. He loves to show off when he can and feel that rush of power that comes with devouring another life. Course, this means he won't be the most agreeable prey. He'll roar and struggle for a good while but that fragile ego of his is bound to shatter eventually, and by then, he'll just be a pathetic, whimpering lump of meat to work over. Just depends on how long it takes for him to realize he's been bumped down a few notches in the food chain for good.
G.ouhin: He's a doctor in the black market who handles mostly aggressive carnivores. Of course, one of his main methods of handling that is showing them what it's like to be the meat they so badly crave. Is that a lesson that can be learned more than once? Completely depends. Other than that, he'll always take in willing prey. He'll make sure it's what they want but hey, if that's the life they wanna live, he's not going to let them go off and pick a worse predator. As a meal, he's one of two ways--if one manages to get him down fair and square, he'll most likely be huffy but accept his place. If one does something cheap like getting him by surprise, then he'll make for a much tougher meal. Indigestion is very possible with him.
P.ina: He's got a slightly different flavor of confidence compared to L.ouis. His good looks and borderline flirtatious behavior make it so he considers it an honor to be his food. Certainly, the type to try and sweet talk a meal down the hatch but not fully above getting a little rough if needed. He might complain a bit about the weight he has to work off later but sacrifices must be made. So, similarly, he'll try to talk his way out of a maw if it comes down to it. Very likely to not work, especially if he goes in head first, but his panicked wiggling won't do him any good. Too bad he likely tastes as good as he looks, doubt there's anything he could offer that'll keep him in one piece.
T.em: Okay, so he's barely a character but why should that stop me? Here's the vision--accidental vore, role reversal, and unwilling pred. Too busy screaming while some rabid carnivore lunges at him sends a big meal shooting down the hatch. Takes a tumble down the stairs with his would-be predator and he lands with a full gut and a headache. Or even just raw survival instinct taking over and making him turn the tables in a moment of pure panic before he even realizes what's going on. And then he's embarrassed by the end results and always tries to deny it. He's much more simple as prey, tends to just give in once he's down the hatch. Maybe it's the panic or the digestion but he usually accepts his place once the delirium sets in. Makes for an easy meal.
J.ack: Accidental vore on this one, too. Sometimes he eats before he thinks and whoops, that's a person in his stomach! Probably a bit bashful about it and apologetic but like...not enough to let them out. If they went down that easily, they'd probably just get nabbed by some other predator. At least J.ack will be nice about it! I also think he's another potential willing prey, so long as he's buttered up about it. Lots of compliments and niceties and he'll be settling in quick. Course, even if he's not willing, it doesn't take a lot of effort to get him to shut up and settle down so he's not a problem either way.
G.osha: I think he was a waaaay bigger pred in his youth, but old age and family life caught up on him and now he's not nearly as proactive. Still nabs himself a meal from time to time but he's a lot more secretive about it and would prefer if no one knew. It's embarrassing for a man his age to do something like that. He will eat others as an act of self-defense, though, or if he thinks they're a threat to his grandson. Otherwise, if he's the one being eaten, I think a lot of that survival instinct just goes out the door in favor of pure panic. The kind that just makes a guy freeze up and do nothing. But unless a pred is immune to it or has a real iron gut, komodo dragons are basically a walking stomachache.
Y.ahya: His diet is exclusively carnivores. He's L.ouis but worse, seeing himself as enacting justice by eating carnivores. He's very cold and unflinching about it, too. He even kinda likes it when he can make a carnivore crack and show him fear. So shows very little mercy to his meals because of that. That means he'll also fight to the end if he gets eaten, absolutely refusing to be food for a carnivore--or at least making them regret eating him. If an herbivore were the one to devour him, though, he'd likely be in too much shock for any effective resistance.
M.elon: He likes to get to know his meals first. Have them feel safe around him, consider him a friend or a confidant. Then he'll strike at complete random, devour them, and really soak in their fear and betrayal. Sure, he'll eat a random person here or there but it never does hit as well as eating someone that felt safe with him. As prey, though, he's not exactly...willing so much as he just doesn't care. If someone is able to get the jump on him first and actually get him down, then he'll let it happen. He's part gazelle, after all. This was always bound to happen eventually...
