My friend(lets lightly use that term) says I dont deserve a horse because ive been riding for less than 4 years, and shes been riding her whole life and doesnt own one bc shes too big. I am the more capable and advanced rider, so do u agree with her?
How long you've ridden hardly defines when you should get a horse. I got a horse when I was 8 and had only ridden 4 years. Why? Because my mom is also into horses, we had the money and a supportive trainer to help. So long as you have the funds, a good place to board and the knowledge necessary or someone with the necessary knowledge that can guide you through ownership, you're ready for a horse. I wouldn't recommend buying a horse to people who've ridden a year or less personally, just because you don't know for sure if the sport is your thing at that point, but there are always always exceptions.
