What do you plan to do next, now that Satellite is finished?
Hello!
Well, I might be writing a little something something to properly wrap up Satellite's story :3
Besides that, I honestly plan to take a good long break from writing to focus on my art. Then, if/when the writing bug bites again, I hope to continue with Protocol, and maaaaaaybe slowly add additional chapters to Symbiosis and Reverb (although, I think the latter might kill me).
And of course, pick up some of my other hobbies that have all but withered since I dropped them for the sake of writing (spend more time outdoors, try my hand at polymer clay crafts, play a couple of games that have been collecting dust in my library).
(This is all provided some new crazy inspiration doesn't take me hostage haha)
You seem super chill and funny, have a hug 🫂 and some cheese 🧀
AHHHH ??? KIND TO ME... THANK YOU !!! Whoever you are. That means a lot ! I strive to be chill and funny yeah !
Thank you for that hug 🫂 I needed it 🫂 hugs you back 🫂
Ahah I know it's good intention for the 🧀 cheese, and thank you !! But I actually Heavily Dislike Cheese. So I hope you don't mind if I give it to the rat instead !
Full disclosure the ice cream one is the reason this took so long to post. Like the cocktail one was easier because of who they were pre-war but the ice cream one was so fucking hard.
4. Favorite ice cream flavor
Richard: Okay so here's the thing. I think in pre-war public he'd posture and say he doesnt like ice cream for whatever Masculine reasons, blah blah whatever. But in private he's a sucker for rocky road. So he'd find a way to sneak it when he was living in barracks, and then buy it "for Gin" while she was pregnant but then clean out the container and make her think she was the one that ate it.
Gin: I think she leaned towards chocolate chip cookie dough. She was definitely the kind of kid that wanted to eat raw cookie dough and so her parents bought that to feed the gremlin. And then it was just a go-to while she was studying/pregnant because it was easier than trying to branch out.
18. What's their go-to cocktail order?
Richard: So I think in the end Richard overall is more of just a casual beer guy but he definitely had to put on airs while he was in the miliatary/in Sanctuary so I think his go-to was probably an old fashioned because its just a good safe Man's Drink.
Gin: Okay I went back and forth on this because I can see Mimosa and Irish coffee for the same reason. They're both like breakfast/brunch cocktails and I know people tend to see them as like barely cocktails because of it, so I can see her being allowed a couple sips from her parents or Nick and Jennifer's drinks at a brunch function as she grew up, maybe eas even allowed her own full cup at home as a celebration as a teen. And through college she had easier access to the ingredients for those two things, with the mimosa being something she was allowed while pregnant (listen i saw old stuff saying that a daily glass of red wine was good for the baby). But I'm going to say Irish Coffee because she can have that post-war.
This is dark but do you think Comics!MK have any surviving extended family or is he truly the last of his family?
I like to think he has cousins but their parents didn't flee to America like Elias did so he hardly sees them
MCU Marc doesn't talk to family for very different reasons obviously
I got an ask!
Now this is a truly difficult question to answer for a lot of reasons, but I will do my best!
Comics Moon Knight has a LOT of re-writes. Moench only included Randall in Marc's known family. He was killed off before Moon Knight even had his own official comic (See the Incredible Hulk appearance, which I will review someday in the hopefully not too distant future). We don't get a lot of references to Randall in Moench's run after that. Like at all. In fact, there is so little discussed about Marc's family in Moench's OG run that I'm pretty sure that people forgot about his brother all together unless Marvel decided they needed to do something and then we got a quick "Oh yeah and then this happened" moment.
Zelenetz gave us Elias Spector and more of a family backstory. We got the story of how their mother died when he was very young, which is going to be retconned later on in Lemire's run when we see his father dying much earlier in Marc's life and his mother still being alive. We get no mention of Randall in this. There are a lot of people at the Shiva/Funeral, but since Elias was a prominent figure in their community (Rabbi), it's hard saying who is family and who is community.
As far as I am currently aware (I haven't dived through ALL the comics in a VERY long time and my re-read is slow and steady), no other family has ever shown up or is mentioned.
HISTORY LESSON!!! (TW Holocaust)
Elias Spector, as noted by Zelenetz, is from Czechoslovakia. Those of you that got a bit more of a history lesson than what they bothered to toss at you in high school, may recognize that this country has been through A LOT. So much so that it has been split, reunited, renamed, taken over, given independence, divided, and renamed and split over and over and over again.
It is safe to assume that his family lived there for a few generations. It's hard to say when they arrived there, but Jewish history is…strife with certain parts of Europe inviting Jewish people in then going "Just kidding" and kicking them out (or killing them) immediately afterwards.
And with the history of Czechoslovakia's REPEATED wars and revolutions and divides…. Who knows the history of the Spectors of if they all settled there or if they had been divided over time.
But what we DO know…
According to a census. In 1921, the Jewish population was 354,342. In 1946 it was 55,000. This was not because they decided to move.
The numbers continued to drop. By 1990, it was 7,800.
The German occupation started in 1930 and was not a pretty picture from the start. In 1939, the Jewish population realized this was not going to go well and desperately started to get out, but 78,000 had already been killed. Many were sent to surrounding camps where Typhus epidemics along with brutal conditions started to wipe them out even before 'the final solution' was put into action. Getting dark here: of the 15,000 CHILDREN that were sent to Auschwitz, only 93 came back.
In 1948, Communist Russia took over. Russia does not have a good history with their Jewish population.
In fact, the 40 year period of this occupation is called "Communist Holocaust". Jewish people were forbidden from practicing their religion and Jewish leaders were forced to leave, convert, or die. Children were prohibited from learning their own culture or religious practices.
So do I think that Moon Knight has any cousins surviving in Europe that didn't flee to America like Elias did?
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to given an honest answer: No.
Is it possible that maybe some of the family left with Elias and came to America or went to England? Maybe. Possibly some made it to Denmark or one of the few places that tried to help get a few out. But if they stayed in any of the countries that were occupied, I don't think they made it. And this may have given another reason behind Marc's anger at his father's unwillingness to do anything about the anti-antisemitism that he witnessed.
Perhaps Marc saw the children with extended family and wondered why he didn't have any. Or why they had no pictures or why his mother and father wouldn't talk about those that were left behind.
If he DID happen to have ANY family that survived, Marc probably has no idea where they are or how to find them or who they are. After the Holocaust, the surviving Jewish population was so scattered and left without homes to return to. The countries that they had fled did not welcome them back. Many didn't want to go back. It has only really been recently with the modernization of the internet that efforts have been made for survivors to reach out and try to find out what happened to their families.
With their father and mother gone, I wonder how much about his family Marc actually knew. The REAL question is: Would Marc, Jake, or Steven make an effort to try to reach out? Would they want to find survivors? Would they feel guilty? Would they be able to even talk with the surviving family? Would they want to?
I don't think Marc would. I think this is one more burden on his shoulders and he doesn't want to be a dark shadow on the surviving family tree. I think Steven would be curious and attempt to dig up records to find out what happened to his father's town or people, but I don't think he'd reach out. Jake doesn't travel. Jake's home and people are New York. I think his soft heart would feel the loss too much to want to know. But I do think that if he found any family living in New York, he'd wander by to say hello.
That being said: What about their daughter? Is she being raised Jewish? Marlene certainly is not Jewish. Or at least she was never given that designation in any of the comics that I can recall or in Moench's run. Even if she is not being raised Jewish, perhaps she would be the one to reach out. A generation reaching out to another to find answers and connection. And maybe through her, it would bring the Moon Knight system back to their own connections.
I can see Jake curiously looking at pictures of grandparents and aunts and uncles and saying "Look I have my Great Uncle's mustache!" only to be reminded that his mustache is very much a fake mustache and him quipping back that he has the same taste at least. I can also see Steven being delighted to trace his roots back and saying "The Spectors are survivors." I think even Marc might be able to sit down with his daughter and recall stories he had heard growing up about the town his family comes from and the people there.
And that does bring me a bit of optimism and hope. That they can share good things about a past that they used to look at and find only pain in. That maybe it would finally let them talk about it when it was something they couldn't talk about growing up. A way for him to say "I have generational trauma, but at least I can start to let it heal through my daughter."
SO.... That's a really long answer to your question, and maybe not the one you were looking for... But it's honest and probably more than Marvel will ever give us (I fear what Marvel might do to the history if they tried).

The Green slowly disappeared out of view as the shuttle flew into the endless darkness of space. The planet you had called your home for the past five years would become nothing more than a tiny speck of light in the sky of your new home. All you knew, everything you had ever owned, was gone. While you didn’t have any belongings other than the ones on your back, you had everything you ever needed with you in the tiny spacecraft. Your love, Ezra, and the darling new addition of the child Cee. The beginnings of a very happy, if not strange in conception, family. It was more than you could have asked for and more than you believed you truly deserved. But you were not going to give it up for anything now.
You had fought tooth and nail to keep Eza and Cee, nearly dying in the process. If it wasn’t for the girl’s strength and passion, you and Ezra would surely be dead. You were eternally grateful to her and had vowed to treat her as your own daughter from the moment you stepped inside the ship to safety.
Once it was safe to do so, everyone’s belts were released and you could move freely around the ship. Your first task was to find a field kit. Between Ezra’s newly amputated limb and the stab wound in his stomach, the stab wound in your leg, and the various scrapes Cee had acquired, you were all in need of the kit.
Cee was first to find the kit, she patched herself up, handed the kit to Ezra and moved back to the pilot seat, her headphones back on her head, wanting some privacy. You let her go, knowing just how stressful the last few days for her the least she deserved was some time to herself.
“Are you okay?” You asked Ezra, instantly recognising the worry in his tired eyes as he watched Cee. It took him a moment to respond, shaking himself back to reality he turned to you.
“I worry for the girl,” He said honestly, “She’s been through so much, what happened with her father…” He trailed off for a moment, the guilt of his actions finally catching up with him, “What will we do now?”
“I don’t know,” You sighed, “I don’t know,”
There was certainty in the chaos in the Green. You never had time to think about tomorrow because the present was always trying to kill you. If you made it to the end of the day alive, with a bit of aurelac in your pocket it was a good day. Now you had the future contend with, not just with your relationship with Ezra but what you were going to do with Cee too. She was just a kid, you couldn’t in good conscience let her go out into the world alone, but would she want to stay with the people that killed her father? You knew what you would want to do in her situation, that much was sure.
Ezra stripped off his suit, leaving the dirty pile of fabric in the corner hoping to never have to wear it again. You helped him, though cautiously due to the limits of your own injury. You applied antiseptic to the wound on his stomach, removing Cee’s tactfully applied supplies. Tears filled your eyes as the reality of just how close you were to losing him set in.
“Don’t cry for me, darling,” Ezra said softly as he dragged his thumb over your cheeks to catch the tears that had escaped. “It’s over, we survived,” He too was overtaken with emotion, barely speaking above a whisper so you couldn’t hear his voice break when he tried not to cry.
You nodded, all words caught in your throat. With his hands on your cheeks, he leant forward and kissed you. There was no need for either you or Ezra to speak, all your emotions flowing into the other you realised just how desperate you were to be close to him again. After a moment, you pulled away. Reluctant, wanting nothing more than to lose yourself in his affections, you were going to have to wait until you were alone.
Instead, he helped you out of your suit, as you had before, joining his in a pile. Returning the favour, Ezra cleaned up the wound on your leg, his touch more comforting and soothing than any drugs you could have taken. You took a couple painkillers and settled down on the cot where Ezra had sat, resting your head on his lap to wait for the drugs to kick in and relieve the pain you were in. Ezra smiled down at you and immediately began to stroke your hair.
As he did, you looked over to see Cee turned around in her seat watching the pair of you. Caught, she rolled her eyes in mock disgust at the gesture.
“You guys are gross,” She exclaimed, fighting the smile that tugged on her lips.
Ezra chuckled and shook his head, “Youth these days,” He chastised. Cee grumbled and got up, out of your view. Ezra returned to stroking your hair as you drifted in and out of sleep you heard the low rumble of his voice as he spoke to Cee. You couldn’t make out what he was saying but it didn’t matter; as his voice had been your only comfort for so long it sent you to sleep almost immediately.
However sleep did not find you just yet as he stopped talking, the ship falling eerily silent except for the rumble of engines. You felt a cold weight on the back of your head, confused you turned in Ezra’s lap and looked to see what it was.
“Stay there, little mouse. I can’t hold it open and turn the page with only one hand,” He said quietly, “You make for a very good bookstand,”
“Oh thank you,” You muttered sarcastically. You didn’t really mind, so turned back around so Ezra could rest his book on your head once more, his hand returning to stroke your hair again to show his appreciation. Your eyes fluttered shut, you snuggled into the warmth of him but something was missing.
“Ezra?” You asked, breaking the silence.
“Yes darling?”
“Can you read to me?” You asked between a yawn.
“Of course,”
It didn’t really matter what he was reading, Ezra’s voice had always been your favourite thing about him. For a long time it was the only thing you knew about him, accidentally stumbling onto his radio chatter a few weeks before you met him.
Eventually you met the man that the voice belonged to, accidentally stumbling into each other's paths one day. You were ready to kill him before he opened his mouth and spoke in that gloriously smooth, deep drawl. Instantly recognising his voice you backed off, and the rest as they say is history.
His voice was all you wanted to hear as you lay on the ground bleeding out after being attacked by the prospectors just moments ago. The silence that surrounded you in that moment as Ezra and Cee fought for their lives out of ear shot was more terrifying than the reality of your ever approaching death. Now you were safe, under his touch once more with his words blanketing your aching body you never wanted silence again- you couldn’t bear it.
His words settled over you, coaxing you to slumber again. However again your dozing was interrupted by a shuffle of fabric and creak of metal nearby.
You opened your eyes just a crack to see Cee lay down in her own cot just across from you. She curled up quietly, tugging the blanket up under her chin tight, with a soft smile on her lips as she watched and listened to Ezra’s story. Within a few seconds her eyes were drooping as Ezra’s melodic voice soothed her to sleep.
In that moment you knew everything was going to be okay. As long as you had eachother it didn’t matter what the future held.
