Part 2: Making the most of your time @TiEcon 2014 in Silicon Valley - A Checklist of Day One Sessions
Summary: Here's a downloadable checklist of TiEcon 2014 Day One Sessions for your use (please double-check details with the official conference agenda as our checklist has not been proof-read): http://tinyurl.com/tiecon2014-day1
The magical thing about large conferences compressed into a small area with a limited time-span is that participants have to make the most of the high density of subject matter experts against the backdrop of a ticking clock. One of the more useful tools we use for all kinds of things, be it managing children during long summer weekends, or selling a home or moving, or even for projects with remote teams, is something as simple as a checklist. Dr. Atul Gawande's book 'Checklist Manifesto' is an interesting and quick read, in case you want to know about other applications of checklists.
We figured we would try using a good old checklist for this conference as part of our preparations for TiEcon 2014, and of course, thought we'd share it with you in case you prefer a more tactile experience versus the swiping one.
The list of speakers and panelists is exhaustive, so we could only capture Day One of the sessions, and doubt if we will have time to capture Day Two and the workshops. This checklist, because it is in running pages, gives one a better idea of the massive scope of this conference and how much value has been packed in so short a time. Kudos to the TiEcon Global Team!
Download it, feel free to make changes, and use it. If we were to do it again, we would probably add links to the relevant pages to make it easier to proof-read it, and to be able to use this on the web as well -- however, sometimes, less is more, allowing for mindfulness while at the conference, except when tweeting.
Hope you find this simple tool useful as you navigate the conference halls. Do say hello if you bump into anyone from SiliconGlades and let us know what you think of the checklist and whether it was useful, or simply follow us on twitter (@siliconglades) and dm us.
