Quick interlude for Ckat of Earth 199999
Ckat and Peter Quill become fast friends and even faster kareoke buddies. Always singing and dancing together during downtime on the Milano. (Their signature song being Don't Go Breaking My Heart)
Everyone else enjoys/tolerates it to varying degrees. Groot often joins in (Still being young at this time), Mantis watches and claps along eagerly, Drax observes but doesn't participate, and Gamora rolls her eyes but is slightly amused. Only Rocket pretends not to pay attention.
After one particularly exuberant duet Ckat plops down between Gamora and Mantis and sees the former's body language change drastically when she comes near.
C: ...Okay, are you mad at me? *to Mantis* is she mad at me?
M: *touching G's hand before she can pull it away* She is jealous.
*G looks offended at M Then looks away*
*C notices this and follows G's eyeline to Quill still dance-walking away.*
C: You know he'd really rather be dancing with you, right?
G: *After a long moment* That's neither here nor there. He's free to dance with whoever he likes.
C: Yeah... but you know things aren't like that between us, right? Me and him?
G: That's your business. You don't need to explain to me.
C: *rolling her eyes and holding out her hand to M* Mantis, will you PLEASE tell Gammy I have no romantic feelings towards Peter Quill?
*G's face scrunches at being called 'Gammy' but otherwise doesn't acknowledge her*
M: *holding C's outstretched hand* She is telling the truth. She has no romantic feelings for him.
C: There, ya see?
M: But she is very attracted to R---
*C uses her other hand to cover M's mouth while she extricates the one M is holding far away from her.*
C: Yup, that's right Mantis. NO interest in Quill whatsoever! Now, if you'll excuse us, it's time for Book Club. *She gestures for M to follow*
