Goth challenge
Day 1 – How did you come to the subculture?
I came into the subculture since I was like 11. I’ve always into Dark ideas and clothes. I have always been a rock/metal head.
Day 5 – Is there a local Goth band or group in your area?
Not that I'm aware of. I'm sure there are some in New York, but I haven't seen any.
Goth Challenge Day 4: Name a stereotype or a cliche you can relate to.
I think the bigger question would be which ones I don't relate to. I wear stompy boots and have hair that constantly falls over my eyes. I drink absinthe and red wine, often alone, often at 3AM while I write ghost stories. I love Halloween and bats and black cats (even though mine is grey). I drive a black car and roll my windows down at night, blasting the Cure and the Sisters of Mercy and the Specimen, etc. etc. I wear dark lipstick and am not afraid to rock my blacks. My eyeliner is perpetually winged. I have a bat tattoo. I want to get married on Halloween and you couldn't pay me to wear a white dress...I'll probably wear black or red. I troll eBay for ankhs and wear dark, woodsy perfume oils. My favourite author is Poppy Z Brite, and you can find the complete works of Poe and Lovecraft on my bookshelves.
Really, I could go on. But you probably know the rest anyway.
