Something I absolutely detest is how men who feel rejected by society fetishize and idealize goth or alt women and assume she is "othered" or on the same wavelength as he is, that immediate kinship is expected rather than earned. And that if you reject this overstep in boundaries, you are immediately categorized as "like the rest, only on the inside" because you didn't accept the unwanted advances. If you don't like horror movies, gore, bugs, and creepy things, if you don't fit their idealized version of a goth girl in any way, it's a betrayal to them. You can't exist as you, you must exist as This. And it's ridiculous.
