books: i have a whole page of recs that i update frequently but some of my faves are all for the game by nora sakavic (mafia drama, sports, and healing from trauma), no.6 by asano atsuko (dystopian scifi and a god damn classic), lord of the white hell by ginn hale (fantasy ~romance~), the edda of burdens by elizabeth bear (norse fantasy, mature, angst with a happy ending), down by ally blue (deepsea horror), havemercy by danielle bennett and jaida jones (1st book in a 4 book series about MAGIC METAL DRAGONS). check the warnings on some of these because western media is not at all free from bad tropes either
podcasts: welcome to night vale is a gateway drug for many. it also paved the way for many gay (and non gay) podcasts to come after it. the penumbra podcast is the first GOOD piece of media ive found that includes all 4 letters of LGBT and then some.
shows: black sails is about a pirate who wages war on all of england because hes gay and angry and does what he wants!!! mr. robot has lots of really cool gay characters though its not at all a focus point of the story
