Sometimes I want a villain redemption arc because I love the idea that no one is beyond the ability to turn themselves around and be better, and because a character got a raw deal and I’d love to see them offered compassion and given a chance to grow and change into the best version of themselves.

And sometimes I want a villain villainy-decay arc where they’re still an asshole, but now they basically just hang out with the good guys being a total gremlin while everyone tries to rehabilitate them enough to at least not stab anyone. Because I enjoy them and I find it hilarious.

i just want to point out that prince sozin and avatar roku had such a realistic friendship because when roku gets bummed out he couldnt work up the courage to talk to the girl he likes, sozin just straight up just starts putting grass on roku’s face for no reason at all other than the innate urge to rip up grass and put it on someone and roku just lets him

if that isnt friendship i don’t know what is
