progress: drafted about 10k, took a year off, revisited it and talked to my dad, did some brainstorming, drafted a bit more, then stopped to make a timeline because ughhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh time, did some research, did some more brainstorming, scheduled a trip to upstate New York because the story is set in the town my dad grew up and I wanted to go "for research" I slept a ton and saw my family and now I'm BACK so perhaps after additional brainstorming I'll finally continue drafting
