but honestly though, you don’t need to be sorry. learning english is nothing compared to learning swedish (which is compulsory in finnish schools because it’s our second official language). swedish classes are hell.

funnily enough, we’re actually currently learning about the history of the english language in our english class. it’s very… interesting that of all places people really wanted to go to england. like vikings and romans and all those guys.

im so sorry you had to learn english oh my god its the worst and im glad its my native language so i dont have to go through the pain of its stupid 'exceptions' and pronouncing. im trying to learn japanese and this kind of gives me a perspective but im teaching myself, so it WILL take me longer to learn

lmao it’s no problem, really! learning english wasn’t very hard for me, personally, but then again i just might be a special case. mom says i have a knack for languages so y’know.

though i have to agree, they way you guys pronounce things is weird. as someone who’s native language is very phonetic (finnish is one of the most phonetic languages of the world, i think) it was really confusing to learn how to write english because the words sound nothing like how they’re spelled. why the fuck is it spelled ‘carrot’ if it sounds more like ‘karat’??? and how the fuck does “pony” rhyme with “bologna”????
