Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu(兀突骨)- Immortality (不死)
Death/Thrash Metal from Kawagoe, Japan
Some good samurai metal, as they like to call themselves. Japanese Vader if you will! GTK don't sound like other death metal bands, yet their sound is undoubtedly death metal. GTK bring a number of unusual elements to the table, enriching the death metal canon. Slap bass? Yes, of course. Marty Feldman-style shredding? Yes. Samurai lyrics? Cool. It may sound a bit gimmicky when you describe it like that, but it's so organic. Gotsu even incorporate traditional Japanese scales (Horikazu, if I'm not mistaken) and make them work. The material is wild, energetic, and a hell of a lot of fun. Highlights include Haru Seinfeld's acid-style bass attacks and the frequent “duel” solo passages in which the instrumentalists try to outdo each other.
