Homecoming
She’d been gone for quite some time. Richard was still giving her grief over it, after all. And here she was, standing in front of the one door she’d been dreading knocking on since she came back.
With a deep breath, she tried to calm herself. “Joseph?” Knocking twice on the door, she punctuated with a slight cough. “It’s…it’s Raven.” A short pause, though the seconds felt like hours.
“I’m back.”
