New beginnings
It had been a long day. Devan had just moved to Charming, trying to get away from her abusive boyfriend. Still, she was hoping a new start in a small town would help her forget all about her past. For now she was staying at a cheap hotel, walking around town trying to find a job. The young girl went into every store, big, small, even the mom and pop stores. Walking down the street Devan saw a ball run out into the middle of the sidewalk. She kept walking not thinking much of it till ahe saw the kid. "Hey!" She yelled hoping to get his attention. Of course be was focus on getting the toy to pay her any attention. "Hey, kid!" She sped up her speed now, wanting to make sure the kid didn't get hurt, and that's when she saw the car barreling down the road. "Shit." "Hey! Kid! Get out of the street!!" Already running now she muttered out a "shit" before pushing herself to get to the kid. Grabbing the little boy, she fell, keeping him safe in her arms as she got them both out of harms way. "You okay?" She asked the little boy, a smile on her face trying not to scare him. Devan felt her head throbbing but was more concerned with the kid in her lap now.
