Night had fallen long ago, and your room is quiet and calm, and so, so dark. You can barely see anything; what little moonlight enters through the windows leaves your view confined to the comfort of the bed. There's very little you can see, but what you can—
He had gone still some time ago, no more movement besides the calm expanding of his chest as slepts, and you watch in quiet awe his moonlit figure.
He has so many freckles.
His back is littered with them, countless spots scattered on his skin like stars in the night sky, and you trace constellations on his shoulder blades with your gaze. There are some birthmarks here and there, and you long to caress the skin, to press your lips against his marks.
You curl into yourself a little, grasping as much warmth as you can. Even with the All-Father’s magic keeping everything warm, you could swear some cold creeps in under the covers, sneaking from outside the walls.
Night chills have their way in, even in Asgard
Even though you feel some chills, the room is warm and cozy, and comfortable enough for him to discard his shirt before coming to bed. His breaths had evened out long ago, and he rests on his side, back facing you, as he always does.
Some would take offense at the position, believing it meant he ignored you, even as he slept. You want to think differently, want to believe it’s because he doesn’t see you as a threat—
Trusted you, even.
“Did you know that you think absurdly loud?” His voice is sudden, abrupt, and you jolt in surprise. His voice is husky with sleep, and he sounds annoyed because you woke him up— and yet, he does not turn around.
It may be because of the darkness, but you could swear the tips of his ears are flushed.
You cannot help the quirk of your mouth as you curl an arm around his waist. He is cozier than the knitted duvets, warmer than any fireplace, and you leech off his warmth. You snuggle into his back, rubbing your cold nose against his skin and wrapping your cold legs around his own.
He jolts at the contact, curses flowing free from his mouth.
“Norns, woman, did you just crawl out of Hel?” He exclaims, glowering at you over his shoulder, looking seconds away from pushing you away. You do nothing but stare back, wrapping tighter around him, and he sights, muttering under his breath how he does not know what he did to deserve this, how he should push you and your frozen limbs out of the bed at once.
He does not move away, though. Instead, he grabs the duvet and pulls it a little higher, closer around the both of you.
When you press your cold lips to his freckled back, he doesn’t object.

You lead thousands of men through successful battles.
You saw hundreds of men lay down their lives in the name of freedom.
You would do whatever it takes to ensure victory.
But that was in your past.
A few years ago you honorably discharged from your status of General. After being tortured by some fascist dickheads, you developed hearing problems from ice picks being jammed in your ear. It left you with constant ringing in your head, sometimes so loud you couldn't hear anything else.
You always assumed you would die on the battlefield along side your soldiers. Never thinking about leaving the army or your men behind. But when you could no longer hear footsteps approaching you, or the distant yells from soldiers, you knew your presence would only end up getting others killed. You made sure your men were left being led by the next most capable person.
Since then you've been traveling.
You saw North and South America, Africa, and now you were exploring Europe. Desperate to get a change from the heat, you decided to come in the dead of winter. Now that you were actually here, you regret it a little bit.
You were currently in the north-east, about a two days hike from the ocean. You settled in some woods, you desperately needed to catch some food. You had set up your tent and were adding fuel to a small fire you made. You unpacked a bow and arrow you had in a satchel and started to look for animal tracks.
----
Kratos was butchering a deer he caught earlier that day. His mind was going over how to prepare the meat for dinner.
The faint smell of smoke ripped his attention away from his current task. He looked to the horizon and saw a thin column of smoke splitting the blue sky that was starting to turn purple in two.
He grumbled to himself.
He was hungry, he just wanted to eat and rest. But he couldn't ignore the possibility of a threat. He stuck the knife in his hand into the wooden butcher table he was working on. He bent over to pick up his axe and headed in the direction of the smoke.
----
You were following some rabbit tracks, crouched low to the ground and moving slowly forward. You needed to rely on your eyes more than your ears nowadays, which wasn't as effective. The distant sound of rustling bushes ripped your attention away from the tracks as you aimed your arrow towards the sound.
There was a large a few feet away from you.
"Can I help you?" You questioned the him with sarcasm in your voice.
"You are trespassing in my home." The man had the deepest voice you've ever heard.
You glanced around, you hadn't noticed any signs of this being someone's house. You lowered your bow and stood up.
"I didn't realize. I'm just trying to get some food and sleep, I'll be gone before the sun is up." You explained to him.
Kratos grumbled slightly.
You knew this type of man. He wasn't the type to let things slide, or give a stranger a place to stay. At least without something in return.
"How about you let me stay, and I'll cook you some rabbit." You bargained.
"I have a deer." The man retorted.
Shit... you were going to have to go for the low blow.
"Well, I served as a General for 15 years, but I'm just trying to enjoy retirement now." You were hoping he wouldn't deny an army man a place to spend the night.
"As am I." He crossed his arms.
"No shit?" You questioned him. Maybe you could use this to secure your spot in the woods.
"I was a General for southern Grœnland." You opened up a little bit, hoping the man would return the favor. But you were just met with a blank stare.
"I lead the war against barbarian invaders... What about you?" You prodded at the man.
"Hm..." The man grunted, "I am from a land called Sparta."
"Cool..." You've never heard of such a place, but that was besides the point.
"I'm (y/n)." You took a few steps forward, holding out your arm as a sign of peace.
Kratos looked at your hand for a few moments, then gripped your forearm.
"Kratos." he announced his name as he looked you in the eyes and gave you a nod.
You nodded back to him as you returned your hand to your side.
"You said you have deer..?" You questioned Kratos.
----
Kratos had invited you to eat with him. On the walk to his house you explained that you sucked at hunting because of your ringing ears. He seemed to empathise with you slightly.
Kratos had tasked you with heating up a pan on the fire pit inside his house while he finished butchering the deer.
You couldn't help but notice the extra bed in his home, reasons as to why scattered through your mind.
You were pulled away from your thoughts when the door opened, the outline of Kratos was approaching you. He laid down a few fillets of meat in the pan and lit some candles in the house.
You watched his every movement, admiring the muscles and contours of his back. He grabbed a bottle and two cups. He set them down on a small table in the middle of the cabin and filled two cups with a dark, amber liquid.
You turned your attention to the pan and flipped over the meat, watching it carefully so it didn't burn. Kratos noticed this, he was always taught to be a good host growing up in Sparta.
"Come sit." He instructed you, walking over to the fire and taking over the cooking duties. You nodded at him, stood up and sat at the table. You inspected the liquid in your cup and gave it a sniff.
Alcohol. Very strong alcohol, is what was infiltrating your nostrils. You set the cup down just as Kratos was walking over to the table and served you dinner.
----
The two of you shared stories as your times as General. It was mostly you, at first, but then Kratos started to open up with time. When Kratos spoke, it was like he hypnotized you. All you could do was rotate staring at his eyes, mouth, and chest. He was incredibly handsome. Kratos also didn't let your darting eyes go unnoticed, but neglected to draw attention to it.
Dinner was over all too quickly for your liking. You took the last sip of your drink, feeling some slight effects of the alcohol. Just enough to give you some bravery.
"I want to thank you for everything." You started to speak as you stood up from your seat.
"There is no need..." Kratos assured you, but his eyes followed your every move.
You shook your head slightly, "Wouldn't feel right about taking up your resources without thanks." You made your way Kratos, blood already travelling south by thinking of what you were about to do.
You kneeled down beside Kratos and tugged his chair to the side so he was facing you. Kratos was silent, his amber eyes boring into yours. You reached your hands up to his belt and started to work on taking it off. It was quite a bit more complicated than it looked, but you got it off without too much trouble. You were met with another layer of fabric, gods, why did this man have 5 different layers covering his dick? Your brows furrowed slightly in annoyance at the fabric, but was soon down to just his pants. You looked up at him to gauge how he was feeling, because he wasn't hard... yet.
"This okay?" You asked him, your voice slightly lower than before.
Kratos hadn't been involved with anyone since Faye. He hasn't been involved with another man since his time running around Greece and Athens on a path of vengeance.
He let out a breath, "Yes."
He didn't think he had ever seen a man as breathtaking as you before. Your (h/c) hair made him want to run his hands through it, your (e/c) eyes made him want to get lost in them for days. And your smile, he'd only seen it a handful of times but it made his heart palpitate each time.
With his go-ahead, you pulled his pants down a few inches and wrapped your hand around his cock, taking it out.
Fuck, he was big. You started to stroke him and scooted closer to his crotch. You could feel him start to get hard in your hand, so you mentally prepared yourself and took him in your mouth. You heard Kratos' voice hitch in the slightest when your warm mouth was around him. About half of him fit in your mouth comfortably, but you weren't opposed to slight discomfort.
With one hand you pulled his pants down further so you could have more access. You began to massage his balls softly, earning the quietest moan from the Spartan. His cock was rock hard by now, so you took more of him in your mouth and didn't stop until your lips were met with the tickle of hair. You began to bob your head up and down.
Kratos ran his fingers through your hair with a pleased grunt, gripping onto some of your locks at the back of your head. You moaned around his length from the feeling of your hair being tugged slightly. Kratos stood from his seat and began to rock his hips into your mouth. Your hands went up to grip his thighs and opened your mouth slightly larger. Kratos took this opportunity to slightly tighten his grip on you and began to thrust himself in and out of your mouth. You took him surprisingly well, relaxing your jaw to let him fuck your throat. You looked up at Kratos and he was watching the obscene sight before him. He locked eyes with him and picked up his speed, feeling his orgasm beginning to build up. You took back control by placing your hands on his hips, stilling him. Creating some suction around his cock, you began to bob your head quickly along his length.
When you heard a moan escape Kratos' lips you pulled away from him, out of breath. Kratos only needed a few more seconds and he would have been cumming. He looked down at you with furrowed brows. You stood up and took off your shirt.
"Get on the bed." You instructed him. Your cock was aching from the lack of attention. You watched as Kratos discarded his pants that were around his ankles and walk to his bed, getting a beautiful view of his ass.
"Hands and knees." You clarified for him. A low grumble met your ears as you stripped off the rest of your clothes. You walked towards the bed and took in the beautiful sight of Kratos' ass in the air, waiting for you. You climbed on the bed with him and positioned yourself behind him. You took your cock in your hand and spread the precum that was leaking from it on Kratos' tight hole. You wet your fingers generously with saliva and pushed a finger inside him. Kratos shifted beneath you with the new feeling.
"You're okay, baby." You assured him, using your other hand to rub a small circle on his lower back. Kratos was glad you couldn't see him because he was sure his cheeks had gone pink.
You worked your finger in and out of him slowly to get him ready, adding a second finger when he was ready. You curled your fingers up slightly in attempt to find his prostate. You soon felt something rigged and a groan escaped Kratos' lips as he pressed his ass against your fingers.
"Mmh," You hummed in amusement, "Good boy." You withdrew your fingers from him and used some more spit to coat your dick. You pressed the tip of your aching cock against Kratos' entrance, grinding yourself against his skin.
This made Kratos groan in annoyance, "(y/n)." He said with a warning tone.
"Alright, alright..." You decided to end his anticipation and slowly entered him, moaning.
"Fuck." You muttered, gripping onto his hips as you filled him with your length.
"So fucking tight." You gripped his hips harder to keep from slamming into him. You slowly pulled out half way before pushing back into him, hearing a muffled moan from Kratos. Hearing him like this made your cock twitch inside of him.
"So fucking beautiful." You praised him as you set a slow rocking rhythm. You were slowly picking up your speed, pulling Krato's hips flush against you each time you fucked him.
Mumblings of praises and 'fuck''s escaped your mouth, an occasional moan Kratos couldn't suppress came out as well. By now you were snapping your hips against Kratos as fast as you could, making small adjustments to your angle until-
The loudest moan so far came out of Kratos, if you could get any harder, you would've at that moment. You held his hips in place as you repeatedly brushed against his prostate.
"C'mon baby." You coaxed him along as you reached a hand around him and jerked him off in time with your thrusts.
"Cum for me, Kratos." Your other hand was digging into the side of his ass, there would surely be bruises left behind.
You felt Kratos' muscles tense slightly beneath you as he groaned, his orgasm reaching it's peak and cum spilling out of his cock.
The feeling of Krato's walls clenching around you set you over the edge.
"Fuck..." You hissed as your thrusts became sloppy and you were spilling your seed inside of Kratos, still pumping his cock.
You moaned through your orgasms and braced yourself up with your hands on Kratos' shoulders. You stilled yourself inside him, leaning over him and panting. After taking a few seconds to catch your breath, you straightened out your back and slowly pulled out, watching your cum spill out of Kratos.
You reached for a random rag nearby and gently cleaned up what spilled out of him. You tossed the dirty rag to the side and laid down beside Kratos, who had shifted to his side, back facing you. You let out a content sigh as turned on your side to spoon Kratos, draping an arm across his waist.
"Gonna sleep here tonight, if that's okay." You asked, pressing a soft kiss to his shoulder.
"Mh." Kratos replied. You took it as a 'Sure'.
You closed your eyes, thoroughly exhausted. This stoic, grumpy, strong man had come undone by your touch. Maybe you would stay here for a few days so he could return the favor.

"Sindri!" Atreus yelled in greeting, his smile wide on his face. You were too distracted to turn to the boy as you watched Kratos' eyes try to melt you where you stand.
"I'd return your surprise but I did know you'd be here!" Sindri returned the greeting with a tone more cheerful than a few moments ago. And, once the two had gotten closer, he continued.
"I've got something for you!" Those words seemed to peak Kratos' interest. At least enough for him to slowly turn his eyes away from you and to the dwarf.
"What is it dwarf?" He asked, his voice monotone in a way that you knew meant he was irritated. Looking back towards Sindri you see his hands fidgeting and nervous in his movements, especially as he began to walk away from the table and what you knew he was gifting them with.
"You know I'm glad I came back here at least once before Ragnarok" he spoke, turned away from all of you as he did. As if talking to no one.
"Oh, if these cobblestones could talk" he reminisced as he looked around longingly. It was clear he really did miss this place.
"Then they'd have mouths...filthy disgusting mouths" he glances turned much more stiff, almost like he was imagining what it would be like and being quietly horrified with the thought. Then suddenly he turned back over, pointing towards Atreus.
"Do you mind if I fiddle with your bow?" He asked and without hesitation the boy handed it over.
It was then that Kratos turned to you before motioning you away. You knew better than to fight the simple request, as bad as you wished not to speak with him, so you followed him.
"You should not be here" he started the conversation off on the worst note possible, though you knew him as a man of very little subtly.
"Given the way the entire city cowers away it seems neither should the two of you" you answered with the same energy as him. With a sudden movement he was looming over you again, this time his anger not so hidden as it was before.
"This childishness needs to end. This is reckless" he spoke in a poor attempt at a whisper through gritted teeth. You felt every inch of your body boil at him having put himself so close to you, his figure mere inches away. So much so that your glare turned snarl like with the sudden wave of rage that overtook you. You were sure, had you not gotten your cloak, that your eyes would be gleaming at him.
"I am aware you think so little of me that you believe I'm so unable to control myself. So I have taken precautions" you display the metal rings that you had placed in your satchel and gesture down at the white bear skin you had placed on your body lined in a magic hidden from plain view.
"I will have you know, though, that even without these my leave would have been anything but reckless, given that you left me behind with no clue as to what was happening. So my apologies for being so childish as to want to know the reason I was nearly killed the other night and why we must so suddenly search for a dead god" you spoke through your own set of gritted teeth and anger. You two remained standing for a long paused moment in utter silence as you stared at one another, as if waiting to see who folded first.
"Hrm..." he finally answered. Despite your growing anger his seemed to simmer and, thankfully, he took a step back from you.
"Uh, if I may cut in here a moment-" Mimir tried to interject.
"No" the both of you answered in unison. After that it seemed Kratos had finished whatever business he had with you as he went to return to Sindri and Atreus. You followed not so far behind.
"Skjálfa!" Atreus released an arrow into a nearby wagon, the medal there compressing the same way the gate did. The boy's smile widened at the sight.
"Cool-"
"Atreus, this way" Kratos called and the boy was about to follow, though not without a curious look at you.
"Are you coming?" He asked to which you gave a nod. To your surprise he looked quite excited.
"Awesome! Come on, I'll catch you up on the way" he waved you forward. You went to follow, though upon looking where the two intended on going you grew a little weary.
"It's a bit dark in there" you commented mostly to yourself. Right before you could take another step you heard Sindri speak up again.
"Oh! That reminds me! Hold on just a moment" Sindri stopped the two of you as he went digging around in his bag. He pulled out a few random things before he seemed to find what he was looking for.
"Since you all are currently lacking a light source, sorry, I went ahead and made these for you! I only made two, though. I didn't expect that you would need one. But I'll get right to it! It'll be done by the time you all make it back" he outstretched the glowing lights which you and Atreus gratefully took from him.
"I'll make due until then. Thank you" Sindri nodded and turned back to do whatever else he had come here to do.
"Atreus!" Kratos called again. You and the boy glanced at one another before quickly catching up.
-
Once the three were gone Sindri went about cleaning up shop, knowing that they most likely wouldn't return here for a long while. Frankly he didn't want to stay long either, not after what Odin had done to the place he once called home.
It only took a moment later he was off again, back through the Yggdrasil and to the home he now knew. However, whatever comfort he had been looking for evaporated the moment he opened the doors. He was hit with disgust, his eyes catching each tiny stain and out of place chair. He wrinkled his nose at the sight before quickly setting off to tidy the place up.
He zoned out while he was cleaning, for the most part. His mind was mostly on what his new project might be and how he would be able to keep up with the mess all the others seemed so keen on making. And soon enough the inside looked spotless and he was off to clean up the mess outside. That being the branch peices that had been shattered all over the ground earlier. So he swept and swept and swept. As he did, his mind wandered from projects and future messes and instead became caught on the stranger he had only recently met. He had to admit it stung a little, not knowing this person who seemed so caught in the lives of those he cared for. He knew it probably shouldn't, yet it did all the same.
He hardly had time to ruminate on the topic when he heard a set of feet he knew all too well, a glance behind showing his brother arriving back home.
"Brok!" He called, the blue dwarf turning his head almost immediately at the sound.
"The fuck you want!" He called back. Sindri took his opportunity to swipe away the last of the splintered branches before quickly making his way to his brothers side.
"I thought you should know the bow string worked! It was actually more effective than I had originally anticipated!" Sindri began his boasting, the project something he had largely worked on by himself. He got an eye roll in response.
"Well whoopty fuckin' do. Least I know yer done blowin' up all my shit" Sindri immediately regretted having said anything.
"It was one time! At least I don't nearly burn the house down every time I make something to eat!" He rebutted but Brok seemed hardly effected.
"If ya don't like my methods then you can cook yer own damn food!" Brok took a turn into the workshop to which Sindri didn't follow. Instead he stood annoyed on the other side of the workbench. Something Brok didn't seem to notice or care about either as he went to work on whatever he had planned.
For a while longer there was silence between the two. That was until Sindri found himself thinking about the stranger again. He found that his curiosity only grew the more he allowed himself to think about it.
"How long have you known them?" Sindri asked out of the blue. Brok's face twisted a moment, his eyes glancing towards his brother before back down to his work.
"Who're ya talkin' about?" he asked, striking his hammer once more.
"Y/n- you know who I'm talking about! You two seemed close" he asked again, this time Brok considered his words.
"What's got ya so curious?" Sindri took a moment to ponder exactly that. Surely it was just because of your shared company. But perhaps too it could be his intrigue in your work and his astonishment at your lack of care for it. Or even just the simple fact that he was curious for curiosity's sake.
Maybe it was that you just seemed so strangely familiar. Like the itch of a memory he couldn't quite grab hold of. A stranger he's somehow met before.
"Nothing in particular. I just find it strange that I didn't know about them until now" Sindri settles on the obvious answer but his tone was sharper than he had meant it. He wasn't sure if Brok noticed.
"I's told ya about 'em before. Just not in no detail" Brok explained which only brought more questions to Sindri.
"Why not?" Was the one he decided it best to ask first.
"'Cause it weren't nothin' your nose needed stickin' in" he answered flatly.
"Well it seems to be plenty of my business now" Sindri countered and Brok huffed.
"Ain't nothin' important to tell you" Sindri was growing unsatisfied with his answers.
"But why not just tell me anyway?" Brok was growing visibly frustrated.
"S'this some sorta interrogation?" He was openly indignant by this point but Sindri most definitely wasn't backing down. So, before Sindri could try to push him again and further delay his work, he answered.
"I mets 'em when they's was half dead fightin' off some Draugr at the start'a Fimbulwinter. Didn't know they's was involved with the other two until a whiles after. Now if yer done sniffin' my ass like a dung beetle on date night, I would like to get back to work!" Brok's frustration became more visible the more he spoke until he was eventually fully turned to Sindri, his annoyance more than obvious.
"Well if you would have just answered my questions I wouldn't have to ask so many!" Sindri defended against the clear wishes of his brother, causing him to turn back to his work in a huff.
"If ya don't get yerself somethin' better ta do I swear ta whatever god'll listen that I'll jump over this table and lick ya-"
"Leaving!" Sindri didn't hesitate to immediately vacate the area, knowing damn well that Brok's threat was anything but empty. Yet now he felt his curiosity nearly burn him, Brok's words having only left him with more to question. But he tried to brush it off as best he could.
He had work to do after all.
-
The journey was longer than you had originally thought, but finally, after having met Durlin and walking yourselves through precarious machines, old maze like mine shafts and fighting frankly less creatures than you would have thought while looking for a maybe not so dead god, the four of you had made it to a final set of large wooden doors. Well, technically not so much the final door as it was the last one you all would be looking through, considering you could all spend weeks in here if you really wanted to search the place.
It looked pretty sealed, more than any other the four of you had gone through anyway. But it wasn't anything difficult for you all to figure out. A few shots from Atreus' new bow string took out the metal on the sides well enough and a good pull from Kratos' blades should-
"Hvat er at gerast!?" A voice yelled behind, your head immediately whipping to the sound and in so meeting the eyes of strangers. And oh boy, they didn't seem to friendly.
"We've got company!" You yelled, making sure the other two managed to pull themselves away from the task at hand. Thankfully, whether due to your words or the strangers yelling, they did.
Your movements were natural, planned. Kratos was quick to take his pick of the group and Atreus happily went to help, given that the two always did work so much better together. So you were left with the other. You didn't feel any need to complain though. As far as you were concerned you got the easy work. They had to deal with the bigger guy and you were pretty sure there were others heading their way.
"Alright, let's get this over with" you taunted your enemy, though you were pretty sure they couldn't understand you. Either way they didn't hesitate to charge.
The battle was as controlled as chaos got, as battles like this usually were. Every blow could have left you mauled, but such was the life you all lived. And, if you were being honest, they weren't really much of a challenge. A minor inconvenience at most.
Bodies dropped and it seemed that you all would get through this quickly. It lessened your hope that there was anything in the locked room if these were the people guarding it. Either way their numbers dwindled and soon only two remained. Given that you currently had your axe handle thoroughly wrapped around the throat of one of them, that would soon be only one.
You had thought to go through the effort of breaking his neck before a quick glance showed Atreus in front of you, his arrow waiting for a mark.
"Atreus! Over here!" You called. A second later the stranger fell limp, an arrow embedded in his skull.
"Behind you!" Atreus yelled as you dropped the body in your arms. You dodged at the last moment, the strangers weapon hitting nothing but dirt and rock. He hardly had a chance to look up before Kratos' axe met the back of his head. And so he dropped limp atop the other, the bodies piling up.
Then, finally, it seemed that it was over.
"Clearly they don't want us in there. This has to be it" Atreus proclaimed with all the confidence and hope that you couldn't have imagined clinging to by his age.
"Back to it then" Mimir encouraged, though you couldn't help but feel a little bad for the soon to be dashed hopes of the boy.
"I don't know. I feel like if Odin was going to hide away a war god, it would be with far more than a few Einherjar..." you tried to caution them. This all felt far too easy.
"Agreed" Kratos spoke, but his blades dug into the wood anyway and soon he was pulling the door from its hinges.
You had to give credit where was was due, if there was one thing Kratos did well, it was tear things apart. So it wasn't a surprise when he did so easily. The door collapsed in a way similar to a tree; its movement slow at first before quickly colliding with the ground.
Dust covered your vision, your hands trying to swipe the cloud away and coughing as it still made it to your lungs. But soon it settled, bits of light traveling through the remnants of it searching for a source other than the thin clouds to reflect off of. Your eyes squinted through the strange haze when finally you saw someone. Before a moment more could pass as the three of you approached, you heard Atreus call out.
"Tyr!" The name sent your stomach to your throat as you realized that you did in fact now stand at the feet of a once dead god. You couldn't find words. You hardly believed what you were seeing. By every sane metric it shouldn't be, yet here you stood, steps away from who you had long known as legend told in stories of great acts of kindness and mercy. A betrayer of Aesir, a god of war who fought for his mission towards peace.
"What trickery is this, Odin? What game do you play with me now?" His head hardly moved and didn't dare raise to meet the eyes of any of you. He only sat, unmoving, uncaring.
"We're not with Odin. We're the good guys!" Atreus, ever the optimist, tried to convince Tyr that this wasn't some sort of trick. An attempt you knew was in vain just from a glance at the fallen god. It was then you noticed he was far from what he once was. A broken man with the fading visage of a legend among many.
You placed a hand on Atreus' shoulder to hold him back. The boy glanced up at you as you shook your head slightly, warning him to keep his distance.
Kratos wasted no time in getting behind Tyr and grabbing the rope that clung to his neck. With a pull the rope grew taught and a swift swing his blades cut threw it easily.
Far too easily.
"This...Is the god of war?" Kratos asked the question, though by his tone you knew he was far from impressed. You gave him a sharp look. That was surely no way to address someone who had spent hundreds of years hidden away at the mercy of God's as cruel as the Aesir.
"Those blades..." Tyr spoke, his eyes transfixed on the red glow that had cut him free. But then the eyes fell again, acceptance covering him.
"I know you..." his tone was full of subtle disdain.
"God-killer" his disdain no longer subtle. His eyes finally met Kratos
"Have you come for me now?" He asks, his resentment clear. His words weren't empty; he knew of the ghost.
"Only to free you-" your father tried reaching a hand.
"Stay away!" Tyr quickly coward from him as he moved himself away, his tone a beg for mercy in its own. Atreus tried to step in but your hand held him back once more. His look to you was full of confusion that you cooled with a patient stare.
"Brother, let me try" Mimir spoke up and Kratos didn't hesitate to give the man a chance.
"Tyr- Tyr! Look...You know me, don't you?" Mimir's voice was jovial, friendly even. Like he was meeting with an old pal under far less dire circumstances.
"You...You killed Mimir!" Well that certainly wasn't the reaction you had hoped for.
"No, no! No, no no no!" Mimir frantically tried to convince.
"Yeah we- we brought him right back!" Atreus, in his own set of frantics now, tried to calm the situation in the worst way possible. You pulled the boy away from Tyr as you saw things quickly going south.
"You...stay away from me, you monsters!" Tyr cried out, whatever previous confidence he held staring down the god-killer now utterly evaporated as he stumbles his way to his feet, bumping the door frame on his way out.
"Stop!" Atreus pulled from your grip and began to run after him, taking only a glance back to the three of you as he went to catch up.
"We need him!" He justified before booking it after him.
"Wait!" Kratos called as he took a spot beside you. The both of you barely set to a run before more of the Einherjar came down from above and out of crevices. You hardly had the time to see one attempt a push and pull match with Kratos when you have two on you. You struggle against them a moment, shifting your weight around until one falls to your heel, a quick stomp knocking them out before you were able to throw the other to the ground beside them, your axe splitting their skull just in time for you to look up and see Kratos shoved through some unstable wood and out of sight completely. And worse yet, he left three more up here for you to deal with.
Great. Looks like you've got to figure this out on your own.
Summary: You know things you’re not supposed to. You behave oddly. And the way you speak is even odder. Kratos, Mimir, and Atreus have no idea if they should believe your ramblings of another world and of a future they have no way of knowing is real. But, you seem harmless enough. Plus, Faye may rise from her grave if they let a poor woman freeze to death in their forest, right outside their home no less.
Chapter 6
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
It’s been a whirlwind of activities since Týr showed up in the Huldra Brothers extravagant treehouse. The Gods traipsed off to Alfheim in search of Gróa’s shrine. Of course you couldn’t go because of the whole ‘being mortal’ bit. But it didn’t matter because you knew what they were going to find there. A shrine portraying a prophecy about the destruction of Asgard, and the Giants champion running the helm. You knew that Kratos and Atreus would argue. One believing in a destiny that was written in the stars just for him and the other refusing to give the fates of this world any leverage over him, or his son. They came back, clouded in anger. Kratos went to brood. Atreus went to sleep. And soon after, drifted into another world far from here. And Týr, tried to pick up a conversation with you. But thankfully Brok was always there to ask for your help with something him and Sindri were working on. Although confused, Sindri didn’t mind. In fact he quite liked teaching you things here and there. Probably because you actually listened to him unlike Brok.
Two days passed. Everyone was a wreck. No one knew where Atreus was. Except you of course. Brok asked you but you told him you couldn’t tell him. And he rightfully got a bit upset at you. You tried to explain to the best of your abilities why you couldn’t say anything about where he was but it was difficult. This was the one thing you disliked about the game. The obtuseness of certain dialogues and how no one just came out and talked to each other. Miscommunication was annoying and honestly shouldn’t be a real problem in real people’s live because, HEY, just SPEAK UP. Talk about your feelings. Set boundaries. Communicate. And yet… here you were. Doing the exact same thing you despised. But you couldn’t help it. Not with this. Not with Ironwood. Was it annoying? Yes. But was this obtuseness necessary for the greater good? Also yes.
But thankfully all of that is done and behind you. You glance around the purple void as you walk along the branches of Yggdrasil. Brok and Sindri walking in front of you. You hear the brothers converse ahead. Sindri saying something about how glad he is that they found Atreus but wondering what in the Hel has gotten into him. ‘Running away from home like that.’ With a puffy huff at the end. You can’t help but smile. Home. If you can’t go back to yours, you hope the gods and dwarves around you can make a permanent spot for you.
“Hurry up or we’ll leave you here, girly.” Brok said as he crossed his arms in front of the gate. Sindri turned around quickly, “We would never do that (Y/n).” He turns back to Brok, “Someone just doesn’t understand patience.” Brok walked through the door, ignoring both you and Sindri who motioned to the gate, “Ladies first.” You smile and thank him as you also walk through. You glance around the cold and frozen landscape before your eyes stopped on three gods standing in front of your old cabin. They all walk towards you before Kratos motions for Atreus to go with you and the dwarves. Now is your time. You stand to the side with Brok as Atreus and Sindri walk into the gate. Freya walks up to Kratos before telling him of her plan to travel to Vanaheim.
“Well. Guess it’s just us then.” Freya rolls her eyes before stopping their decent back into her skull. She looks towards you, confused.
“And who are you?” She looks you up and down. She can probably tell your a mortal so you just tell her your name. Kratos turns towards you as well. “What are you doing here? Why have you not gone back home with Atreus?” Here it goes. Freya questions Kratos, “You know her? Why do you travel with a human? Who is she to you?” You speak up to plead your case as Brok opens up a door to Vanaheim.
“Like I said, I’m just (Y/n). Um, Kratos and Atreus saved me from freezing to death right outside their house. I owe them a lot.” Your eyes shift back over to Kratos. “I know I can’t do much but trust me when I say I have to go with you guys to Vanaheim. There’s something I need to talk to you about.” Freya sighs and shakes her head before sheathing her sword.
“No. We cannot take you. You’ll just be an unnecessary risk and burden on our way to garner my freedom.” Ouch. That was harsh. Kratos doesn’t move a muscle as he questions you. “Can this not wait until we are back in the dwarves home?” You shake your head as you make your way over to Brok.
“No it can’t. And frankly I’m not asking for permission from either of you. I’m an adult. I can make my own decisions. Even if those decisions could lead to me getting hurt.” You cringe a bit. The last part sounded dumb as all hell. Freya walks over to you, “You mean to your death.” Ice cold. Not an ounce of warmth in her voice. “Yeah, that too I guess.”
“I am sorry but I’m not letting you get in the way of what I seek.” You stare back into her chocolate brown eyes. You could almost see the hurt and anger swirling behind her irises. “I understand but I’m still going. Plus…” you pat Brok on the shoulder, “…Brok can look after me!” He swung his arm at you. “HA. You wish.” You scowl and try to push him into the snow.
“Enough.” Kratos steps forward. “Will you watch over her or no?” Brok sighs, “Fine. Why the hell not. House is getting stuffy anyways. We could both do with some strechin our legs.” Kratos hums before he and Freya step through the gate.
“So, you’re finally going to tell him? Good. Thought you were gonna wimp out on me.” You shiver. “I almost did. I just… I just don’t want him to be mad at me.” Brok nods his head in understanding. “Don’t go frettin’ ‘bout nothin’. Knowing the future is hard enough on some gods. But knowin’ the future as a human? An odd one from another world to boot? I’m sure he’ll understand that shit ain’t easy for anyone.”
“I hope so.” And with that you both stepped through the door. Vanaheim, here we come.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Brok kept his word and protected you from all sorts of monsters that spawned in front of you. And despite Freya’s chilly demeanor, you saw her sword slice a few Draugr that got just a bit too close to you. Kratos did as well. You hate being a burden for them but this was the only to get Kratos alone. Away from any secret conniving gods or ravens. Plus they didn’t have to haul you for long. A certain god of fertility’s camp was coming up soon.
But you will admit, seeing all these creatures in real life was quite terrifying. They weren’t pixels on a tv anymore. They were growling, snarling, spitting beasts. And for some reason they seemed keen on killing you. Not your group as a whole. You. Just you. Though they did fight the others, some of them were pulled towards you. As if you were a magnet for trouble or something. You shiver thinking about how their different colored blood sprayed from their bodies as axes and swords plunged through them like cake. Thankfully Mimir had noticed your fear and discomfort, cracking jokes or telling you stories from Kratos’ belt to help calm your anxieties. And you’ll thank him thoroughly for that once you reach Freyr’s camp. Freya had unfortunately turned into a falcon by now. So it was only Kratos and Brok doing the bulk of the fighting now. That is, until you hear a familiar snap and a scream. Oh no, forgot to mention that to Brok. Whoops. Oh well, he’ll be fine. Brok struggles to get down as Kratos tells you both to remain silent. You make your way over to Brok. Maybe once he’s cut down you can catch him.
“Now what do we have here?” A voice asks from the darkness. “Ol’ One-Eye send another god to do his dirty work? Thor too busy?” Kratos squares off his shoulders. “We do not serve Odin.” Freyr lights a small torch before throwing the two rocks back onto the ground. “No? Picked a dangerous place for sightseeing then.” He shrugs. “Am I right?” And it was then that Freyr’s comrades decided to make their presence known. Weapons in hand and raised. But you paid them no mind as you felt a familiar buzzing in your chest. Or more so, in your bra. You had almost forgotten that you placed you phone there for safe keeping. But now you couldn’t pull it out fast enough as Fergie’s ‘Clumsy’ started playing on full blast. It’s was your best friends ringtone.
‘First time
That I saw your eyes
Boy you looked right through me, mmmhmm’
You freeze up in mortification as you make eye contact with Freyr. You can feel your cheeks heat up in pure embarrassment as you chuck your fur pelt off of you. Everyone else stops what they’re doing as they stare at you in complete confusion. You, in your embarrassed haze, don’t even notice Lunda cut Brok down as he falls to the ground beside you.
‘Play it cool
But I knew you knew
That cupid hit me, mmm mmm’
As you shove your hand down your shirt you glance back up again to still see Freyr looking at you. This time with a bit of a smirk on his face. You would be upset at your friend but you knew she would be just as embarrassed as you if you called her in the middle of a meeting and on full blast Gwen Stefani’s ‘The Sweet Escape’ started playing. So you’ll forgive her. If you ever made it back home that is. You finally pull your phone out of your shirt but by that time the call had ended. And now you just realized that you missed a phone call. A phone call! You’ve tried sending messages and calling people but nothing ever went through. And now by some miracle a call made it to you and you fucked it all up by being embarrassed? Great. You turn to look at everyone, still frozen.
“Sorry. So sorry about that. I uh… well ya know… um. Fergie’s iconic. What do you want from me?” Freyr stepped closer to you before Kratos stopped him with the blade of his axe. “I’m sorry but uh… who are you?” You went to go answer his question but was silenced by Freya as she flew in and perched herself next to her brother. She explained who everyone was and what they were doing here. As she did that you turned towards Brok and helped him to his feet. He got up and dusted himself off.
“What in all the nine realms was that?” You crossed your arms, “Music. Ever heard of it?” He flung some dirt at you before he made his way over to Lunda and her forge. You see Kratos, Freyr, and Mimir talking at the makeshift war planning table. At least, that’s what you’re calling it. You make your way over as you hear Mimir say he would be better off here, consulting Freyr on his battle plans while Kratos and Freya sho off in search of her freedom. You stand beside Mimir as you tell Kratos that it’s best for you to stay here too. You quickly glance over to Freyr.
“If that’s ok with you that is?” He moves a little closer before smiling down at you. “Sure, of course. As long as I get another free show.” You scowl. “Excuse me?” You cross your arms over your thin tunic. You should go pick up you pelt after this. He slides away, noticing the hulking shadow that was Kratos was now behind you. Axe in hand. “I meant the singing. Plus I was uh… I was only kidding. Of course you can stay here.” Kratos grumbled before looking down towards you. You glanced up at him with a small smile on your face. “Don’t worry. We’ll talk when you get back. I wouldn’t keep Freya waiting for long.” Mimir adds in, “Don’t worry brother. No funny business will be happening here.” You laugh a good hearty laugh. Kratos leaves as he and Freya make their way deeper into Vanaheim. Freyr turns his head to you. He smiles.
“Oh what, you think a beheaded former advisor can really stop me from getting into any trouble?” Your laughter calms down into a slight chuckle as you look up at Freyr. All he sees is your sparkling eyes staring up at him through thick and curved eyelashes. For some reason unknown to him he can’t look away. Mimir sputters in the background about how he could do some damage if he was thrown horns first. You put a finger on your lips in contemplation. And that’s all it took for Freyr to be transfixed by your full lips. Soft. He’s sure of himself. Your lips would be incredibly soft. You speak but he doesn’t hear you. It’s not until you’re heading to Brok and Lunda that he realizes you even said anything at all. He shouts at you to repeat yourself.
“I said ‘You can get into all the trouble you want, because you’re definitely not the type of trouble I’m into.’ Ya dummy.” And with that you’re finally next to Brok as he introduces you to Lunda. As that is happening Mimir is staring directly at Freyr as he watches the god stare at you from across the camp. “I wouldn’t think about that brother. Kratos has a soft spot for the lass. We all do. Plus, she’s mortal. Let her live a normal life with one of her own when all of this is over.” Freyr sighs as he turns back to the table. “Are you always this much of a buzzkill?” And with that they come up with plans of attack against any and all Aesir troops in his home.

I’m here with chapter 6~. After rereading the latest chapter of The Pickpocket for the 50th time in a row I decided to finish up this chapter!
As you can tell there was a small timeskip at the beginning. Not a normal one. I still explained things but I did so quickly instead of trying to linger. Also… was that… flirting??? In my Minecraft Server?!???! By the way Reader wasn’t trying to flirt. She’s just a baddie and does it without even knowing. Trust me, you’ll see a chapter where she does try and flirt and it will not be like this. Lol.
Anyways thank you for reading, and say hello to my lovely readers. I will see y’all next chapter! Bye bye~.
Hi! I love your Kratos posts there isn’t enough content on here about him!! This isn’t really a request but more of an idea (if you want to take up on it ofc) but i absolutely loved your relationship rambles on Kratos so I loved to here your rambles and thoughts on if you think he’d ever have any more children and what he’d be like with more kids. Honestly I see Kratos with a big family and the thought of Atreus having siblings is 🥺
Kratos x Reader Family Ramblings
A/N: Ngl the thought of having a family irl freaks me out, but in fiction its so appealing lmao. If any of you want to send rambling/fic ideas feel free! Also this is all over the place, i was just writing lol.
Reader is implied female, mentions of pregnancy

Upon first glance at the towering spartan, your thoughts would be somewhere along the lines of “intimidating, scary, stoic…”. To a stranger it is hard to imagine someone as cold as Kratos would even want a family. But in reality, it's something the man longs for.
To start a family with you however, will force Kratos to face the pain and trauma he’s forced down. The fact he murdered his first family, and his harsh treatment of Atreus when he was a young boy. A big fear of Kratos is turning out like his own father, being cruel and vindictive with little to no care for others. But in your eyes, Kratos is the kindest man you have met. You’ve seen how he interacts with others, the underlying gentleness in the spartan when he interacts with Atreus. How his eyes will worriedly flicker to you every so often just to make sure you’re ok. You think Kratos is nothing like his father.
But give the poor man some time, as seen before with Atreus when he was very young, Kratos doesn’t always have the… healthiest ways of dealing with inner turmoil. Trips off to the forest to clear his mind will be quite frequent, sometimes you join him but majority of the time you do not.
After the initial fear, Kratos would be delighted to raise a large family with you (Or a small one! If that's what you want of course, Kratos is just happy to be with you). Kratos does quite like the pregnant look on you, it makes him happy seeing you trust him so much to raise children with him.
In terms of a big family I like to think somehow you would end up with 4 kids, 3 older boys and the youngest being a girl. When you give birth to your daughter, Kratos is more choked up out of all his children’s births. Holding a little girl in his arms again makes him remember how he failed Calliope. Father protectiveness to the max with her, it’ll be hard for her to find a future partner.
Generally speaking, Kratos' way of raising children is still a little harsh. He wants them to be capable and to be able to pull their own weight. But not to worry, it's nothing traumatizing. Daily sparring exists, and once your daughter is old enough to join in so do you. Although sparring sessions with you and Kratos are much more lighthearted and silly than your childrens.
Atreus would be overjoyed with his new siblings, on his visits home you can often see him roughhousing with the boys and teaching your daughter self defense, even though Kratos has done this a million times now.
Your family will be full of love, some days will be harder than others. Kratos won’t just be able to remove all of his struggles from his memory. There will be arguments, but you and Kratos will persevere. These arguments consist of disagreements on parenting techniques or Kratos’s awful habit to shut people out at times.

Chapter 4
This new world you found yourself in was so vast, and so so terrifying at the same time. Beautiful but other worldly. Like it shouldn’t be real and yet here you are. Witnessing it with your own eyes. You were walking along the spindly branches of the world tree as you followed Sindri to his home. You stared out into the vast periwinkle void and you could’ve sworn you felt something stare back. You think back to your earlier thoughts. Beautiful yet terrifying. Lovecraftian in a sense, but some of his work was based off of Norse mythology so I guess calling something Lovecraftian that existed before him and even may have given him inspiration was just not right. But hey, it made sense in your head.
After Atreus came back in from his talk with Odin, Kratos showed up a couple of minutes after. They got into a slight argument, as they tend to do, and then Kratos decided that it was best to see what had gotten his boy so wrapped up that it would cause him to lie to his own father. But of course that left you, a mortal that could barely use a sword and could definitely not scale cliffs as easily as the two gods before you. “I can just stay here if you want?” Kratos just shook his before continuing to think. “They might come after you again.” He stated. You shook slightly at the thought. Atreus looked at with concern but you saw a twinkle of something else. Curiosity. He took a couple of cautious steps towards you. “Why were they here? What did they talk about?” He questioned. You knew what he really wanted to ask though. What could those gods possibly want with you? And again, just like when you first met them, you told them the truth.
“They think that I can help them prevent Ragnarök somehow.” You turned on your heel as you paced back and forth. You looked back up at them with a sigh of exasperation. “I don’t know how they knew but they knew! They knew I wasn’t from here. I don’t know exactly how much they know because our conversation didn’t get that far.” You think back to your fear ridden self. Your first thought was to get out of there. Not about possibly getting answers of your own. “I don’t know why they would think that but… I don’t know… I’m just really confused right now. I’m sorry.” You mutter softly. You felt like a burden. Not only are you slightly messing up the timeline, though they don’t know that, but you can’t even help them with their problems. They saved your life. They fed you. They clothed you. They gave you a warm bed and helped teach you about this land and all you can say is ‘I don’t know’ and ‘I’m sorry.’ Maybe… maybe you should finally tell them. But how would you even go about explaining it. ‘Hey your whole life’s a video game for other people’s entertainment!’ just wouldn’t cut it. As your mind began to spiral you heard a soft spoken voice speak up.
“She’ll be safe at our house.” Everyone turns to look at the dwarf in the doorway. Sindri smiled and waved. “All of you are welcome actually. You probably need a new place to lay your heads since this one is… well…” he looked towards the hole in the roof. “Compromised. Heh.”
And that’s what lead you to know. Walking through this mystical looking void, trying desperately not to peek over the edges of the branches. The thought of tumbling over your own feet and falling to your death in an endless void making you sick to your stomach. Sindri turns back around to you and starts up a conversation. “Me and my brother don’t often have visitors so this will be new and exciting. Hopefully? Just uh… wipe your feet off before you enter. If you can?” You nod your head in acknowledgment. “Yea I can do that. I can leave my shoes at the front door if you want? Don’t really need them inside tracking mud and melted snow anyways.” He stops before you, hands on his hips and a slight smile on his face. “That’s actually a great idea. I should implement that. Thank you!” You giggle before gasping in shock. A bright white light in the shape of a door appears before you. Sindri ushers you forward as you slowly push yourself through the mist. It felt tingly. Like when you scrub your sock covered feet against the carpet and go to poke at someone. But instead it’s all over your body. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s quite shocking nonetheless. Sindri follows behind you.
“By they way, I think we may have found some items that belong to you.” You furrowed your brow. Confused on what he could have that might belong to you. “What do you mean?” He goes to open the door of his grand treehouse. Taking off his heavy duty boots as he continued, “Well Atreus told me a lot about you. How you may not be of this world and well, Brok and I have found some…” he swallows as he tilts his head. “Unusual items on some of our scavenging expeditions. So I’m just assuming here.” He turns quickly towards you with his hands raised high as you unbuckle your boots. “Of course I could be wrong so if I am I apologize for over stepping.” You place your boots next to his as you wave your hand at him. “Don’t worry about it dude. It’s fine. But I’d like to see them if you don’t mind.” He nods before another burly voice interrupts him.
“So you’re that weird mortal girl they found on deaths doorstep.” Brok looks you up and down behind his smithing station and huffs. “Yea, you look like you wouldn’t be able to survive a greasy warthog tooting at ya, let alone Fimbulwinter.” Sindri gasps before turning to you. “I am so sorry. I’m sure he didn’t mean anything by that.”
“Like hell I did!” You couldn’t stop the laughter as it burst forth. You grasped your knees as your stomach started to ache. Honestly, what he said wasn’t even that funny but you couldn’t help but feel a slight weight be lifted off of you at his strange behavior and odd idioms. You calmed down before apologizing. “I’m sorry, that was just…” you shook your head as you tried to find words to describe your thoughts. “I don’t know man, that was just fucking funny I guess.” Sindri looked appalled at your foul language as Brok bellowed out a laugh not to dissimilar from your own. “I like this one. Well come on then! We haven’t got all day, you wanna see those odd contraptions or not?” You nod enthusiastically as you make your way over to him. He bends down and grabs a big wooden box. “I can tell one of them is a bag but it’s definitely an odd looking one. Don’t know what’s in it. Didn’t care enough to open it and the other one?” He just shrugs. “Fuck if I know what that damn thing is. It gets bright sometimes that’s all I know.” You nodded as you opened the box.
“Oh my god! It’s all my shit! Holy fuck thank you! How did it even get here? Where did y’all find it?” You shouted in shock and awe. Brok laughed his ass off as Sindri sighed. “Do you always speak like that?” You nod your head but apologized to him anyways. This was his home after all. You grab your pink and blue Little Twin Stars mini backpack. It had dirt smudges everywhere and a couple of claw marks. Looked like an animal tried to get into it but gave up halfway. It wasn’t as pristine as you usually kept it back at home but it was here! In your hands! You push it to the sides for now. As you look into the box and swiped your phone. You could cry. It was your phone! Fuck what everyone else said about the evils of material goods in the modern world. You spent good, hard earned money on these things. Of course you’re gonna enjoy them! You’re a material girl in a material world and that’s all you’ll ever wanna be. And you won’t feel sorry about it either. You turned your phone over and looked at the the pink Cardcaptor Sakura phone case. You looked at your phone charms dangling on the side. Toro Inoue and Pipimi and Popuko. They were dirty but fine. You then look towards the screen. Sadly it was cracked. Starting from the left corner down to about halfway down the screen in a spiderweb like fashion. Thankfully though, you had a screen protector. Your iPhone recognized your face as it opened up and you were bombarded with notifications from all of your apps. You began going through them, not even giving a second thought to how your phone is possibly working here at all. Sindri and Brok flanked both sides of you as they watched your fingers slide across the screen. Moving bright little boxes with words they couldn’t understand. Brok, starting to get restless, slapped your shoulder and asked “What the hel is that thing?” Sindri nodded, “I would very much like to know too.”
“Oh my god I’m so sorry. I just got really excited. Um…” you try to think of a way to explain what a phone is to people that don’t even know what technology is. “How do I put this? This is a phone. It allows me to contact people from far away. So say I was here with you guys and let’s say Atreus was all the way across Midgard right and he uh, he also had one of these. We would be able to talk to each other no problem.” Now that you’re hearing yourself out loud you cringe a bit. Describing how things worked or what things did was never your forte. If anyone back at home were to ask you to explain anything you’d hit them with a “I don’t know. Google it.” Sadly, you can’t really do that here. And you can tell that you explanation wasn’t all that great as they still looked confused.
“How does that work? And how can you control all those things with your fingers? Can it do anything else? One day it stated to make a, in my opinion, grating noise. Why did it do that?” Sindri just piled on question after question. And you felt bad because you didn’t know if you’d be able to answer all of them. Brok noticing your exasperation slapped Sindri on the back as he moved around the table. “Give the girl some room. You starting to sound like an ingreased cog.” Sindri stumbled forward as he turned to glare at Brok. “Ow.” He huffed before Turing back towards you. “I’m sorry.” You shook your head and smiled. “No need to apologize. I get it. It’s something new and interesting. You want to know more about it and I don’t blame you. But even though this is mine I don’t know how everything in it works. I just know that it does.” He shuffles forward towards a small door. “I understand. Here, this used to be a broom closet but we renovated it slightly to be a room. I know it’s not the best thing in the world but it’s a place to lay your head.” You peek into the room with a smile on your face. Definitely still is a broom closet if the mop in the corner was anything to go by. But the bed on the other size of the room that seemed to be the perfect size for you was nothing to sneeze at. “It’s perfect Sindri. Thank you.” You turn towards Brok. “And thank you too.” You grab your backpack and the bag you brought with you from the cabin and set them right next to your bed. You turn towards the door and looked at the Huldra brothers with a fond smile.
“I hope you don’t mind but I think I’m gonna sleep for a bit. It’s been a pretty eventful day.” Brok nodded before leaving. You can hear the sound of hammering start back up on the other side of the wall. Sindri smiles, “Of course.” He goes to close the door before peeking his head back in and saying a quick, “Sweet dreams.” He blushes before slamming the door closed. You hear him mutter something before scampering away. Brok lets put a hefty laugh, making fun of his brother’s embarrassment. You lay down and stare at the ceiling. You hear Sindri leave through the front door. Most likely to bring Kratos and Atreus back to their newfound home. You bring your phone back up to your face. And open it. You click on an app that you know all too well. As you scroll through all the different fanart of the very same characters that you are sharing a home with your struck with the sudden fear that your gonna have to come up with some way to help these people. You can’t let any of them die. But again, what can a mortal do amongst gods? You have the advantage of knowing what is going to happen and when. But how good is that when these gods can easily over power you and kill you. You have to tell them. You have to tell them everything. They’ll be able to help you come up with a game plan. You sigh as you turn off your phone and turn to your side. Staring at the stationary mop and bucket of water. You just hope that Kratos will listen to you. You hope that they all will. And maybe, maybe they won’t be mad. God help you.
Sorry this took so long y’all. My sisters been letting me use her pc and I’ve been playing Stardew Valley with a bunch of different mods and loving it! There’s a mod that make Toshinori Yagi a marriageable character and AAAAAAA I love him. Anyways hope you guys enjoy this chapter. Let me know what y’all think in the tags or the comments. Thank you~
Summary: You know things you’re not supposed to.
Chapter 5
When you woke up you heard no noise. Or, rather, no chatting. What you would expect to hear if Kratos and Atreus had returned. No you only heard the clanking of metal on metal. The same noise you fell asleep to. With a small groan you swiveled your legs off of the bed and cracked your back. A small yawn echoed around the small room before you opened up the door. You looked around to see no one. The only other person was Brok working in his smithy.
“Where is everyone? I thought they’d be back by now?” You asked while spinning around the main room. Hoping to spy Atreus reading a book perhaps. But no, they weren’t here. Brok stopped his hammering before answering you gruffly.
“They went to Svartalfheim. Apparently the little runt thinks Týr is alive and being held captive there. So Sindri took him and Kratos to see if they can bust the fucker out.” You probably slept through the small exchange before they departed. That’s a shame. You really wanted to see Mimir yell at the Huldra brothers for their, rather ingenious invention.
“Oh.”
“What? Am I not good enough company for the little mortal?” He bellowed in exasperation. You being, well you, decided to poke fun at him.
“I mean… yea pretty much.” You noticed Brok finally turned around from what he was doing to finally pay his full attention to you.
“Ex-fucking-scuse me, Princess?”
“You’re excused.” With a small and short ‘BAH’ he continued his work. But you did notice a slight smile on his face. You walked away, feeling good enough to leave knowing he didn’t take your teasing to heart. You walked up to a book case across the room, gliding your fingers over each and every spine. Your mind raced with thoughts of having to come clean about all that you knew. If they came back with Týr the Imposter in tow then how would you be able to tell anyone anything without tipping off Odin? You glance back at Brok. Knowing what’s to come for him and poor Sindri. It was difficult for you to know what to do. You glance back at the book case. You picked up one randomly and and opened it somewhere in the middle. You read the title on top of the page.
The Oath of Truce
(Tryggthamól)
‘…and wherever men gather together, there shall ye be so agreed as though this matter had never come between you. Ye shall share both steel and steaks and all the things that are betwixt you, like friends and not like foes.’
Fuck. Is this the world trying to tell you something? Fine. No more secrets. Secrets are what led to so many deaths and unnecessary hardships in this world. And you aren’t going to help that along. You place the book back on the shelf and turn towards the blue dwarf.
“Brok?” You took a few steps closer to his work station. Slowly, almost as if you were afraid to spook him. But truthfully you were the one that was afraid.
“Oh what? Finally gonna admit you just might like my presence around after all?” He chuckled. You smiled. And earnestly told him that of course you like having him around. He’s kinda an ass. But a funny ass. And humor can make up for a lot.
“But that’s not what I wanna talk about. This might not make sense but…” breath in. Breath out. “If you had knowledge of the future. And you knew a lot of bad things would happen, some even preventable, would you try and stop it?” He scrunches his eyebrows together and asks where this was all coming from. “Atreus told you and Sindri that I’m not from this world. And I’m not. But there’s a lot more to it than just that. I know things. Things about this place and how certain things are gonna play out.” You finally step up to the work table and stare down at him. “Týr is alive. That’s true. It’s also true that he’s locked up somewhere. But the Týr that is being brought back here is not the real one. He’s a fake. It’s Odin. Please you have to believe me. I know I sound out of it and crazy but we need to figure out a way to keep him out of this house.” With that small piece of information off your chest you felt like you can finally breathe again. Sure, you didn’t spill your guts on everything you knew, but it was a start. You look down towards Brok, eyes slightly watering. Lying is easy, but telling the truth is fucking hard. Brok holds his breath for a moment before billowing out a barely there laugh.
“Ok, well that sounds like a load of crockshit but weirder things have happened before.” You had a pleading look in your eyes and before you can beg for him to believe you some more, he continued. “Look, don’t go all teary eyed on me. I don’t need anyone thinking I yelled at ya or somethin’.” You wiped you eyes. “And if what you say is really true then why didn’t you tell the bozos before they went galavanting off to find the fucker?”
“I didn’t know how to tell them! I didn’t know how to bring it up! How do you expect I go about telling literal gods that I know their entire life story?” He squints up at you before asking, “So the Týr thing isn’t the only thing you know. What all else you got locked up in that big ol’ head of yours?”
“A lot.” You bite your lip. “Everything.”
“Streð mik. Ok well, we can’t get rid of him outright or he’ll think somethings up.” You nod. Sounds good. Odin already thinks you might be a key to stopping Ragnarok and you don’t want to confirm that yes, you are one, to his face.
“So… what do we do?” He looks at you sternly. “Nothin’.” What?
“What do you mean we do nothing? How is that gonna help anything?” He rolls his eyes before he turns his back towards you. Working on God only knows what.
“If you haven’t forgotten, you’re mortal. You can’t DO anything. Especially against someone as conniving as the All-Fucker himself. We lay low. Watch him. And I highly suggest you find someway to get Kratos alone so you can tell him everything you know.” He turns around, feeling the grimace on your face as you say nothing. “And I mean everything.”
“But… what if there are some things that are better left… unsaid?”
“Don’t start that shit with me.” You sigh and make your way back to your room. “Fine. Let me know when they’re here if I’m asleep.” Brok scoffs before saying you can wake your damn self up. Rolling your eyes you close your door and wait for your inevitable doom. Why does Kratos have to be so damn intimidating?
It doesn’t take long for everyone to return to the house. Imposter in tow. You walk out of your room and are greeted by Atreus. He beckons to you wildly. Most likely wanting you to meet this God he thinks so highly of. Oh if only he knew. You step forward with a small awkward smile on your face. “(Y/n) this is Týr. Like from all the stories I’ve told you about. Týr this is (Y/n), the human we told you about.” He turns to you, the same golden eyes that you’re used to seeing from Mimir staring back at you.
“Oh, so you must be the girl from… another time was it?” You nod. “Yea, something like that.” He hums. “In all my travels I haven’t heard of a story quite like yours. Excuse me but I would love some rest without Odin’s eyes on me. But after, I would like to continue our talk. I’m sure you have some very fascinating stories.” You nod once more in acceptance before turning away and letting him rest. Atreus catches up to you and asks what you think. About Týr you presume.
“Uh ya know… he’s a dude I guess?” He gives you a look as to say ‘Really?’ “Look, I don’t know what you want me to say. I’ve never prayed to any gods back home and I certainly won’t be now.”
“That’s not what I’m trying to get at and you know that. It’s just…” he sighs. “We’re finally closer to getting answer. Answers to questions I’ve been asking myself for so long. We’re not there yet. But we are one step closer. Can’t I be happy about that?” You stare at him with a knowing look in your eyes. “Of course you can be happy about that Atreus. Honestly, that’s all I’ve ever wanted for you. And your dad. Happiness. You both deserve that. But please, don’t let the prospect of answers cloud your judgement.” Atreus reaches out to you as you walk away.
“(Y/n)…”
“Look, I’m just a bit tired ok. I think I’m going to get some rest.” And with that you walked back in to your designated room.
“She’s been sleeping a lot lately. Is she ok?” Atreus sighs. “Yeah Sin, she’s fine. Let’s just leave her be for now.”

I’m back from the dead! Not really. Look I’ve been an Obey Me mood lately and I still am tbh. Those demon boys do something to me fiercely but I’ve been rewatching Ragnarok and also been rereading one of my fave HeimdallxReader stories and I got hit with a bit of motivation. (If you haven’t read The Pickpocket by @engardeitsme then you are missing out.
I know it’s not the longest chapter but I’m bored with just writing a play by play of the game because the reader can’t be there for most of it. So there will be a bit of a time skip starting off next chapter but it’s all good. Hopefully that’s not too bothersome.
And with that here are my lovely readers and I’ll see all of you, next chapter, byeeee!

Chapter 2
It’s been a couple of months since you had woken up in what seemed to be the set of Game of Thrones. You remember Kratos questioning you. Who are you? What are you? Why are you here? Basically trying to intimidate you into possibly giving up any information of potentially being a horrible person intending to hurt him, or more so his son. Luckily Mimir was there to lighten the mood a bit. Seeing Kratos in front of your eyes, not as a video game character was… unnerving to say the least. Honestly when you woke up you were expecting everything to be some wacked out dream. Too much gaming late into the night and waking up at the buttcrack of dawn for your shit job. But no. You were here. Actually here. You think. The jury’s still out on the dream thing. But you answered him still. As truthfully as you could. You decided against talking about the fact that you basically played through this man’s whole life. From destroying Olympus to now essentially. Yeah, you don’t think a man like Kratos would’ve handled that well. But he listened. So did Mimir. And so did Atreus. They stopped you and asked questions here or there. Mainly Mimir and Atreus. One because he’s the “Smartest Man Alive” and the other because pure, unadulterated curiosity. They accepted your words. And Kratos made his decision.
“Stay? With y’all? Just like that?” You couldn’t help but sound skeptical. Mimir, who was… sitting… yeah you don’t know whether you could call being placed down on a barrel by your neck stump sitting. But you digress, Mimir chuckled and said “Don’t worry lass! We’ll put you to work yet!” Kratos just hummed in agreement as Atreus smiled towards you.
“Oh. Ok.”
And that’s what led you to now. A few months down the road and they have been teaching you, trying to at least, to hunt and scavenge. Mind you, Fimbulwinter made everything so much harder when it came to gathering food. And since you were mortal, you needed more than the two gods and the undead head.
“This is so stupid. How do you feel anything in this fucking cold?” You simmered to yourself as you practiced with a bow that Atreus had made for you. You could barely feel your fingers as they fumbled with the the string. You tried to keep the arrow straight but no matter how hard you tried it just seemed to move away gradually. As if it was trying to piss you off. “You just gotta get used to it!” Atreus shouted from across the backyard training area. He didn’t want to be hit by a stray arrow. You finally got the arrow to sit still before releasing the string and let your arrow shoot through the sky. Well, shoot through the sky would be a lie. The arrow basically fell not even two feet into the snow and dirt. You heard giggling behind you. You spun around, eyes narrowed into slits. Atreus paused before shrugging and apologizing. “Here, let’s just gather more firewood before father comes back.” You rolled your eyes at the teenage god before walking with him towards the small section of woods behind the training grounds. The trees there were designated as firewood only trees.
“It’s cold as hell here. I can’t help that my body ain’t used to it. I live in California alright? It gets cold there, but never like this.” You swing your bow around your body, finally securing it on your back with the string across your chest. It seemed pretty big to you but Atreus said you’d grow into it. You would’ve mentioned that you were an adult and done growing but the look in his eyes were enough to stop you. You recognized that line. He was remembering his mother, Faye. So instead you just said thank you and took as much care of it as you could. You grabbed a smaller axe that was kept by the fencing and went to work. You definitely didn’t consider yourself strong in the least but you could swing an axe and break a couple of logs. Or at least do some minor damage to it as Atreus did the rest.
“Oh no, Hel is way colder. Trust me.” Atreus said with a grunt as he finished your pile of wood for you. You both then grabbed what you could and headed back inside. “I’ve been meaning to ask, what exactly is your home like? You don’t talk about it much.” He pushed open the door with his back as he stared at you. “Do you miss it?”
You really didn’t talk much about your home and your life before all this. You were more concerned with learning how to be useful to these people. After they were so kind to you and offered their home to you. They deserved that much. And you hated feeling like a burden. It was a gut wrenching feeling to know that no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t live up to some peoples expectations. So no, you didn’t talk about home. To busy trying to help. But.. you missed it. You missed it a lot. Maybe talking about it wouldn’t be such a bad thing. “Yeah. Yeah I miss it. What exactly did you want to know?”
It was at that moment that Kratos, with Mimir strapped to his hip, walked in with some freshly dug up roots and what looked to be a chunk of meat he probably butchered from a wild animal. Deer probably. He placed them both on the kitchen counter. Which was just a wooden table. The same table that you guys did anything and everything else on.
“Have you trained more with your bow?” He asked you gruffly. You perked up as you nodded vigorously. “No yeah! Of course!” You said as you took off your bow and placed it next to Atreus’s by the front door. Kratos furrowed his brow at your verbiage before grunting and looking towards Atreus. “She’s doing better father. Not ready to hunt quite yet but better.” He nods before gruffly saying “Good.” He turned towards the food before preparing it for supper. Watching Kratos cook was something else. Sure it wasn’t anything fancy you might see on Food Network but there was still something about it. It was so, domestic for the God of War. You sat down next to Atreus as he got his journal out.
“So… you were going to tell me more about your home? Uuuhh…” he wracked his brain trying to remember what you had called this mystical and other worldly land that you had hailed from. You giggled at his stupefied face.
“California. It’s called California. But that’s just the state I live in. My home country is called America.” You looked down towards your feet. Stilled covered in your Nike tennis shoes. “But… let’s just talk about my hometown for now.”
