Meliodas/Elizabeth: I like to imagine that Meliodas was the one who fell in love first, so he would be the one experiencing the disease - for a short time because Elizabeth fell in love shortly after. He would be very embarrassed about it and try to hide it, but it would be fun if Elizabeth found out about it and was absolutely clueless (but also worried and a bit jealous).
King/Diane: I have an AU exactly like this ... King is the one with the disease, no doubt! And of course, he doesn’t want anyone to know, especially not Diane - I imagine this happening during the time Diane didn’t remember about him and therefore didn’t love him back. Anyway, he manages not to let her know (and even if she found out, she probably wouldn't realise she is the one King is in love with). Anyway, the disease slowly starts to get better as Diane develops feelings for King. He barely realises that because they are in the middle of a war, until she literally kisses him.
Ban/Elaine: I wouldn’t know honestly ... I think they fell in love more or less at the same time. I can see Ban realising that he is in love first so it’s possible that he would suffer from the disease for a very short time before Elaine realises it too.
Merlin/Escanor: Escanor is totally the one with the disease! And if we consider what happened in the manga, I don’t think the situation would have been solved before he died. But in an AU where he survived ... maybe things could have gotten better, if he and Merlin had gotten closer (especially since Merlin finally realised how much he loved her). But it would have taken some time.
Gloxinia/Drole: That’s difficult, I can see them falling in love more or less at the same time... but I think that Gloxinia would be the one who is more aware of it, so he could suffer from the disease for a while because he doesn’t want to rush anything with Drole and ruin their relationship. (It would be interesting if things were solved only after they became part of the Commandments because Drole takes a long time to find out about what’s happening and why it’s happening).
Derieri/Monspeet: Monspeet is the one with the disease, but he is very careful not to let anyone know about it. He doesn’t want to scare Derieri nor to make her feel like this is her fault. This would probably get solved only when Derieri realised her feelings for him. If they survived, I think it wouldn’t have taken long.
Zeldris/Gelda: Zeldris falls in love, gets the disease and he is so mortified and furious about it! He does his best to hide it from everyone, the Demon King’s son can’t show this kind of weakness (though eventually his father would find out ...). Anyway, luckily for him Gelda develops feelings for him as well, she just needs some time to figure it out.
Gowther/Nadja: in this case, I think that Nadja would have been the one with the disease - mostly because Gowther would have needed some time to understand what he felt towards her. He would be so worried about Nadja’s condition and would have no clue about the fact that it’s her love for him that’s causing it ... eventually he would confess her his love because he needs to tell her, not because he thinks she loves him back. He would be very surprised when she tells him she loves him back.
Gilthunder/Margaret: that’s difficult ... I think that Gil was the one falling in love first, so he would be the one with the disease. Margaret probably realised she was in love with him shortly after he did, but considering that they were observed and controlled, it wasn’t that easy for them to spend time together alone and to confess - but it happened eventually!
Veronica/Griamore: Griamore is totally the one who fell in love first and spent the longest time without even imagining that Veronica could love him back. He tries to hide the fact because he doesn’t want to upset her, but when Veronica finds out about it, she gets so mad! At first, Griamore won’t tell her who he is in love with and she hates the fact that someone is making him suffer so much. And this could make her reconsider what exactly she feels for him... until she realises that she loves him too and that the person he loves could actually be her.
