This is more of a field recording than an actual studio "project". It was recorded live, last September, onto an old iPod touch with a high-quality stereo mic, played on a semi-solid guitar through two different guitar synths MIDI-ed up together and sent to two different sets of (cheap) speakers. Completely live and impromptu.
It's not a perfect recording by any means - you can hear the traveller kids from the hardstand next door playing around, and someone downstairs shuffling and moving plates. I've tried to transcribe and recreate the piece "properly" but this version is the most fun.
So here it is, internet: a little chewn called scrub 6 - one of about 10 similar "scrub" pieces that I did in order to get myself to think outside the box(es) and work without too much digital immersion. Make of it what you will.
Roland GR-33 guitar synth, PRS SE custom semi-hollow, iPad running Nave and Thumbjam in tandem via Audiobus, pavee kids, neighbour on pots pans and plates, straight to disk in one go, edited on Audacity with no added effects or processing. Put it all together and you call it... scrub 6. Until I call it something else next week. C'est clepteau.
And that's my week, and the month of January, over with. TGIF, I'm off to Moe's.
