One day my little brother was the only one to raise his hand in class. His teacher had asked "Who here thinks gay people should be able to get married." His hand shot high in the air, alone. Another kid turned to him and immediately called him gay. He put his hand down and said "My older sister likes girls and I think she should be able to marry who she likes." He went through bullying for me, to stand up and say he supported me. Another day he was on Instagram and with a huge grin turned his phone to show me something. On his screen there was a picture that said "if you haven't heard this yet today you're beautiful." When he found out I was suicidal he hugged me tightly and asked why I'd ever want to die. And then he didn't stand for the pledge when I explained to him why he shouldn't. My older sister honestly is the person who makes me feel most beautiful. When she says I'm a hot piece of ass I believe it. She probably has no idea how much it means to me when we go shopping and she grabs things for me to try on and she smiles and says, "this would look good on you." Because in a world where you're constantly being judged for your appearance and you're never good enough until you're a Barbie doll that little bit of support means the world. She is big, and beautiful. And her confidence in her own body helps me remember that I am beautiful. Honestly a lot of my confidence comes from her. And sure we fight, but at the end of the day she's the one I go to for everything. I have a relationship with her that I don't have with anyone else. She helped me determine who I am and influenced me more than anyone growing up. Without her I'd probably be timid and uncomfortable in my own skin. I never met my older brother in the flesh, he died only being a day old. But I can always feel when he's here. He watches so closely over me and has protected me for years. I see him in my dreams and on one occasion I saw him in the corner of my bedroom. We've talked using an angel board and he told me he loves me. I love all three of my siblings so much and I don't know where I'd be without them.
