Lee Clow : Taco Bell Chihuahua (1997)
Lee Clow
Chairman and Global Director of TBWA\Worldwide. Advertising Age referred to him as “advertising’s art director guru”.
The advertising campaign began during a peak in the "Burger Wars" in which several fast food chains were engaged in large advertising campaigns against each other. The chihuahua became a big hit because of it's comedic nature and story that is told within several advertisements.
It was a controversial campaign because of the stereotypical implications, but this only garnered more attention to the ads.
