Harold.....
had a dream last night that i was raising a baby with grace and will, and karen lost her while they were shopping.
she came back to the house with a baby doll instead of the baby and tried to show us her.
and then while looking for the baby in the city, i ended up on a red carpet for netflix, and who was there?? PATTI LUPONE! and when i waved at her, she didn’t know who tf i was, and said “she must be a foreign actress.”
so both of my dreams were crushed in the span of one night.
The show Will & Grace unfortunately kind of taught me stereotypes about gay people and I hadn't known were just that. Since I hadn't ever interacted with anyone lgbt during that period of my life. Least ones that I knew were lgbt. Basically the show wasn't as progressive as it should've been.
Will was single for 98% of the show, way too uptight and his single-longest relationship with a man was only referenced, his ex only showed up for one scene. The storyline of him being with a new man he'd actually pursue a real relationship with wasn't as intimate or romantic as it could've been. And the man he ended up with left him later on because of his uptightness. He ended up raising a new baby with his best girl friend in the reboot. Because the writers didn't like how will and grace separated to raise families of their own with their own husbands ans barely talked after. And you know no one would've been able to tell that relationship wasn't romantic in the slightest.
Jack was way too busy getting into and out of relationships off-screen, I don't think I ever actually saw him WITH a man on-screen for more than thirty seconds. He did talk about men dreamily but the way a playboy did with girls he didn't actually gaf about. Even the sex jokes were made as references to the tens of exs he'd had that week alone. Most of them seemed younger than he was, and the one relationship I thought would actually be worth continuing for him didn't last longer than any of his other ones.
The only bodily sexual people on that show were women. And they were both straight. One of them was besties with Jack, and they played at being sexual while she made fun of Will with girl nicknames. And the other, Will's bestie, attracted single men like moths to a flame.
Really the only gay things that Will and Jack did were talk about past boyfriends, dance and sing show tunes.
