I created this sketchbook to explore the beauty in the everyday houseplant! Painting, printmaking and stitch provides an outlet for me to explore and find beauty in the ordinary and everyday. Quarantine has allowed me to inspect the previously overlooked and the sketchbook brings depth and life to those small and often insignificant things previously taken for granted.
I am a Textiles student studying at Edinburgh College of Art, however due to the current unpredictable quarantine period, I have moved back home to the Lake District, Cumbria. The change of scenery and the abundant amount of time on my own has re-sparked a passion to create my own projects, away from the confinement of previous university briefs. I love to convey illustrative stories through my mixed media artistic style. My practice is diverse, evocative and delicate and I aim to add variety into my work through captivating line and mark making techniques. Words, stories and poetry have become increasingly central in my practice to further add personal significance to my work.
