eli makes emil think of security. they might not know each other well (or at all, to be perfectly honest), but emil respects the general air of experience eli carries. he knows what he's doing, or is, at the very least, extremely good at seeming like he does.
inside of matches emil knows he's sometimes being watched over, in a good way - he knows he's in safe hands and it helps wonders with his nerves. outside of them, eli's calm demeanour is rather soothing among the rather... loud personalities found across the manor.
he also likes eli's outfit. it looks cozy. let him borrow it sometime, maybe?
