The last time I had tears in my eyes for something related to the world football was back in 2006. Real Madrid was playing Villareal at home and one of the greatest player football has ever seen was having his last match in Santiago Bernabeu, Reals home stadium. He announced his retirement before, so everyone was expecting for him to wave goodbye to fans. He came out to the pitch after match with tears on his eyes and seeing that, I couldn't control my eyes from welling up. Years have passed, as a Madridista I saw a lot of downs and never was that distraught about it, upset yes but not to the level where I could even be remotely close to crying. I thought I was way beyond that phase. And yesterday happened. The same bald man walked into a press conference and announced he is stepping down as Real Madrid manager and my eyes welled up again. And I realized I haven't come that far in last 12 years. Thank you Zinedine Zidane. I hated you back in 98 for knocking out Carlos. But since 2001 Im an ardent fan of you and will always be. I hope you won't take any club managing job in future as I don't want to see you managing or getting associated with any other club. I'm strangely possessive about it!! #graciaszidane #graciasmister #mercizisou #zidane @zidane
