If Jote was asserting she hadn't been trying to actually ride the Bighorn, then Joshua would believe her - though he did still give her a rather long and slightly disbelieving stare. It did sound far more like his attendant to be trying to do something as reasonable and logical as trying to get meat than it was for her to be trying to ride one of the oversized monsters. If he was being truthful, it was almost even a little disappointing; it would have been infinitely more entertaining had she had been actually just doing something silly and impulsive for once.
"There are other ways to obtain food." And it wouldn't harm him to go a few days without meat. There would be something else to eat if he needed it.
Though a lack of protein for too long could become an issue for him and his healing capabilities.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. The entertainment from the story will keep me amused for quite some time now." Joshua moved to take a seat at Jote's bedside, smiling gently as he did. After a moment he reached out to place a hand on her shoulder. "Are you harmed, though? Beyond your pride, that is."
