I am sorry for how I acted I should not have taken out my frustrations and anger on you. I took your comment in bad faith and that was not right of me.
Hey, thanks for the apology again. I'm sorry I upset you with my use of gendered language (dude, bro), it was a genuine mistake and I didn't mean it out of malice! I use it so genderlessly in my day to day life that I didn't think about the fact that some people don't like being called EITHER of those!
The best advice I can give here on my end is an old adage I like:
Hanlon's razor.
"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
Always double check before attacking someone- are they actually being an asshole? Or are they just not thinking?
If I say something that somebody doesn't like, I want them to be able to tell me where I messed up so I can fix it. I fuck up sometimes, and I also try my best to be kind. Tl;dr:
Humanity, ya know
I had a polite conversation with the parties and it ended very well! Miscommunication cleared up, all is good. Please do NOT go out of anyone's way to attack this person- mistakes happen and things can be misinterpreted or lost in translation.
Also to be fair, I did hella forget "bro, dude" does have those male ties to it, that's on me and it was a goofy mistake BUT a mistake nonetheless. If I say something that makes someone uncomfortable, i'd want them to tell me so I can correct myself. Sometimes, I fuck up, and there's always things to be learndt
I reported the bully for what they did to you. I hope staff handles it properly and that going forward, people show you the same decency & respect you show others. I hope their behavior hasn’t hurt you too much, and that the rest of your day gets so much better. Them being a marginalized person doesn’t make what they did okay and hopefully someday they stop being eternally 12 years old
Incredibly kind of you, Anon! I also reported them- kinda creepy behavior on their part to immediately jump to d e a t h threats, saying "i hope your sister is safe around you"... both my sister and her two trans partners have been making fun of these trolls with me- it's lovely
There are so many words out there that mean so many things and I get to learn them! Hooray!
