Teaching 5th Graders a simple, easy way for to finding mean, median, mode and range for any number set
In this Grade 5 math lesson, we will learn about different ways to analyze a data set.
A data set is a list of numbers that were recorded from a scientific experiment.
We will learn how to find the mean, median, mode, and range of any given data set.
The mean is the average of the data set.
This is found by adding up all of the numbers and dividing by how many numbers there are.
The median is the “middle” number in our data set.
The mode is the number(s) that you see the most in the data set.
The range is the difference between the highest and lowest values in the data set.
See the video to learn more about how to calculate mean, median, mode, and range of a data set.
