Gathering my thoughts in a mind map.

I am currently trying to work on a Final 2 idea, and I needed to gather my thoughts in order to come up with a final piece with relevant conceptual underpinning.

I like the idea of creating an image that represents a child’s imagination, which is the core concept that is needed in order to partake in Symbolic Play.

Here is my sketchbook research on the important stages of Play, the key ones from infancy to early school-age, and others for Primary School age children.

I decided to look into the types of play commonly observed in Primary School aged children, and I found that two types in particular made me remember my own childhood experience - Dramatic/Fantasy play, and Symbolic play.

I decided that I would focus on these two types of play in relation to how they impacted me as a child, and how that impact has made me who I am today.
