One Last Gradible Update

As many of you know, I used to be a pretty big supporter of Gradible.com (formerly Gradsavers). For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a website where you do tasks like making Craigslist postings for people, posting reviews of things on Amazon, etc. and earn points. For every 100 points, they would pay $10 off of your student loans. It used to be so easy to earn points, there were days when I literally earned $25 in less than an hour, and bing bang boom! The payment was sent to my student loan servicer.

Gradible “expanded” (I’d say downgraded) and became a mostly survey run site. Lots of “put in your email, get your credit score, give us all your information” from third party sites to earn any kinds of point, and sometimes only fractions of points. Literally, 0.07 points is an option. 

Well, today, I’m sick, which means I got up ridiculously early, because I couldn’t sleep. Having woken up at 5:30AM, I checked a bunch of things online this morning, and I decided to check Gradible, just to see if it had improved at all. 

Apparently I woke up early enough, because I snagged 5 craigslist posting tasks, 10 points each. I had 30 from a few months ago, so in about 10 minutes, I had 80 points. Only 20 more needed to cash out for a $10 payment. 

It took me over 5 hours to get that other 20 points, but I did it. So today I have paid $30, instead of $20, as I said earlier. 

With that, I do believe I will be washing my hands of Gradible, at least for the time being.

I'm glad you mentioned that, I've redeemed my first $10 (as a trial to see if Gradible truly works) on November 5th, I've checked and checked my account numerous times. When I emailed gradible they did a screenshot for the check made payable to Mohela (thats my loan from Missouri Valley)that was $10, I was told by Mohela that it takes a few days to clear the check (Which I understand) but its been awhile now. I even redeemed $50 loancred last week. I'm being patient but I hate the runarounds.

Good job redeeming those credits and paying those loans! 

I was getting a tad anxious, too. Standard rule of thumb with Gradible: wait three weeks for the credit to show on your loans, and expect it in funny amounts. I have gotten anything from $11 to $73. They post things in an interesting way, but they do follow through. 

If you redeemed it on November 5, then it was probably caught up in confusion-gate. It’s coming. If you have any further concerns about it, feel free to contact the people at Gradible. They are very kind and understanding, and will help however they can.

The New Gradible

Alright, I have played around with their new features a bit, and I have to say: I don't like it. 

They are in the process of updating their website to incorporate more tasks, and I am hopeful that the majority of those tasks will go back to being the standards: posting to craigslist, reviewing e-books, etc. 

I scoped out their new surveys page, and for the most part, I am very disappointed. Almost all of the survey options, even the "free" ones, require that you give some form of credit card information, or, at the very least, your address and phone number. 

I did a few of the safer looking ones, just to see what they were like. One was entirely in German, and a few others asked me one question before informing me I had been screened out of the survey. 

I am truly disappointed, and have contacted Gradible to inform them of that, asking if the older tasks will be making a reappearance. I will keep you informed of their answer. 

In the meantime: keep doing their minimal tasks to earn those credits, and fingers crossed that it will go back to the amazing website it was before the upgrade.

When you redeem you loancreds, usually how long does it shows on your account that it has been paid? I'm at 500 loancreds I would like to get to 1000 before redeeming.

Hi there! Great question!

It varies. For me, it usually takes between two and three weeks. 

It depends on three factors: how quickly Gradible workers process the information, how quickly they send a check, and how quickly your loan provider processes the check. 

Gradible says:

How long does it take for the credits to post to my student loan account?We aim to process payments as quickly as possible, and can often be complete in under a week. However, this largely depends on the student loan provider,  and it can take up to 3 weeks from the point we receive your transfer confirmation for the credit to post to your loan account. If you have payment has not been processed by this point, please contact us at [email protected]

I have contacted them about this once (they are pretty on top of things), and the payment was posted to my loans within a few days after that. 

So safe estimate: 3 weeks, but it’s usually less than that. 

Just keep watching your loans. I check mine everyday, just to make sure no funny business is happening. I was so shocked the first time a Gradible payment posted… it just showed up as a $70 payment, which I hadn’t made. But it was so exciting to see those loans get paid!
