At the workshop, our tutor introduced us to some lino cutting artists, so I decided to do some independent research for inspiration. Grafica Mazatl creates unique work through the use of line, the level of detail and especially the way that he can fluidly describe areas of light and dark are incredible. His work seeks to have a voice that promotes political, social and environmental justice which highlights the issues in his native part of the world that need to be taken into consideration more. I like how his work is not restricted to a particular scale and creates a sense of belonging through the symbolism of his work.
