Playlists for Graham and Vivian, because… why the fuck not? I’m physically and mentally exhausted so this is a nice way of relaxing between laundry.
So for Graham and Vivian separately, the songs are things I can see them listening to and enjoying.
For the combined songs, I’m definitely thinking about their relationship and its various stages.
Graham:
“Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce
“Father’s Son” by Tori Amos
“Vakaren” by Katatonia
Vivian:
“Parce mihi domine” by Cristobal de Morales, performed by Jan Garbarek and The HIlliard Ensemble
“Snow, Lots of Snow” by Mark Sparling
“The Old Ways” by Loreena McKennitt
Both:
“Future Awaits” by Yasunori Mitsuda featuring Joanne Hogg’s beautiful singing voice
“If we were Destined” by BEN
“Feels like it’s Over” by Darren Hayes

Today My Sight Is Sharp
By Yousri Alghoul
Translated by Graham Liddell
You were totally heedless of this. Now We have lifted this veil of yours, so Today your sight is sharp!
—Qur’an 50:22
The cold eats away at me, and the darkness surrounds me…
Alone in this place for ten days, I’m frozen, unable to scream or…
22. Do they have a nice singing voice?
Graham has a lovely baritone singing voice!
Meanwhile, Viv's singing voice isn't bad, but it isn't lovely. He could probably train his voice a bit more to sound nice, but he doesn't sing much. I can't imagine him singing outside of when he'd try to put his kids to sleep when they were infants/toddlers. He chooses to hum more often than he sings.
38. Have they ever thought they were about to die?
Depends on how closely one defines this. There were times both of them have thought, "I might die in this situation!" like when Vivian was fleeing from situations where he most likely would've been executed. He also did not have a good childhood, and there were times he thought his "siblings" (from the human family raising him) would kill him.
Graham has been sick a couple of times. Really close calls. One in particular, where even Viv was certain Graham wouldn't make it either. He was in and out of consciousness. Then the fever broke and he got better.
Thank you so much, hopefully this clears up soon. I'll camp out with my heater and humidifier and meds in the meantime. :)
9. What position do they like to sleep in?
Graham is one of those who can sleep in many positions, but he favors being on his back with his top half propped up quite a bit. He'd do well with those adjustable beds or a good wedge pillow. He probably likes a firm mattress too.
11. Are they a heavy sleeper or do they wake up easily?
He sleeps on the more heavy side!
What would Graham and Vivian’s favorite date setting be? (A picnic, staying at home, restaurants, etc)
If they were the sort of people to leave the very ancient kids at home for an evening, they would eat out at a restaurant. Someplace quiet and late into the evening, when most of the dinner crowd has thinned.
Viv would eat something predictable (likely a ham dish), Graham would choose something new. Maybe they'd go to an orchestra concert beforehand or browse bookstores.
They'd probably be more relaxed if they allowed themselves nights out like that.
Haha, they also--in their younger years--didn't mind sneaking away on university campus to fuck somewhere with the high stakes of being caught together. It's not that they're too old for it, but they think they're too old for it now. :)
And Graham would probably hurt his back trying.
