was looking for church mice pics for use in online jigsaw puzzles and theres not a lot so i scanned a page of my copy of diary of a church mouse (i wanted a christmas one lol)

not a perfect scan but i thought others might like it (i didnt want to bend my book’s spine too much so the part near the center of the book is a tad blurred)

i might do more scans from these books at some point cuz the art is so lovely and fun

The Church Mice at Christmas, by Graham Oakley. Part of a justly classic series, in which Arthur and Humphrey are the ambitious leaders of a well-meaning but anarchic band of mice, and Sampson the church cat is the long-suffering straight man to their mayhem. In this story, their attempts to raise money for the makings of a Christmas party meet assorted obstacles until they accidentally foil a burglar dressed as Father Christmas, and receive a most gratifying reward.

The Church Mice And The Moon by Graham Oakley is gotta be one of my favorite books.  I know it made a big impression on me when I was little.  I especially admire the rocket’s intricate trajectory and the ensuing chaos; a possible result of Sampson’s superior and aesthetically pleasing rewiring of the rocket’s control box.  ^_^

I’ve always been fascinated by this picture of the two disreputable scientists eating breakfast in the WOMUMP kitchen, in The Church Mice And The Moon by Graham Oakley.  I often think of this picture, especially when I am doing dishes and think of the mountain of dishes shown in the background.  You can tell they are villains not only because they are not nice to mice, and one of them has a pointy beard, but also because of they are so incredibly messy.  Of course I admit to a great deal of villainy in this regard, but perhaps they take it a little far.  Truly a cautionary tale.
