I’ve always been fascinated by this picture of the two disreputable scientists eating breakfast in the WOMUMP kitchen, in The Church Mice And The Moon by Graham Oakley. I often think of this picture, especially when I am doing dishes and think of the mountain of dishes shown in the background. You can tell they are villains not only because they are not nice to mice, and one of them has a pointy beard, but also because of they are so incredibly messy. Of course I admit to a great deal of villainy in this regard, but perhaps they take it a little far. Truly a cautionary tale.
