the Re: Dracula team deserves an Oscar for their script editing, dialogue editing, directing, and voice acting (Graham Rowat) for the impossible feat of making us actually understand a glimmer what the fuck Mr. Swales was saying and no i don't care that audio dramas don't qualify for the Oscars they still deserve one fight me

bro, Graham Rowat is such a fucking phenomenal voice actor. i will listen to any old dogshit that he's in. the world of audio dramas is pretty dominated by horror fiction, and like all types of horror media, there's a LOT of dogshit. so believe me, he's been in some real stinkers. he did a bunch of stuff for one of the more popular SCP podcasts, and i listened to all his episodes, even though the writing was painful because he's just that good. think Brad Douriff in The Exorcist III
he can do incredible things with his voice. impressive pitch range, can pour on the vocal fry like his life depends on it, always adding little tics to keep characters distinct. he has a background as a Broadway performer, iirc, so that probably accounts for how much vocal control he has. his German accent is pretty silly, but his British accent is serviceable, and he's REALLY excellent at different regional American accents. the emotion! the different screams, growls, gurgles and wet chokes! if his name is on the cast list, i'm listening to it. even if the script makes me want to rain violence down upon the writer's head, i gotta hear my boy Rowat.
This might be the most niche post I've ever written, but I think Graham Rowat would be perfect casting for Anafiel Delaunay.
Graham Rowat is one of the most amazing voice actors working today. the range he has for both the pitch of his voice and regional accents alone is impressive. but that delivery! he's been hired a few times to read for the SCP podcast, and even though the script itself is middling-to-poor, i'll find myself actually enjoying it based on his voice work alone.
that's gravitas, baby. that's power.
