He sings part of an 80s power ballad with Stolas the Demon Prince from The Lesser Key of Solomon bc he’s in thsi thing too but here he’s a dandyish DILF with alcoholism. Fucked up. I love it

So many “rewrites” focus on removing all ambiguity. Characters will loudly state how they feel, and it’s so strange to me? As though moving through the world with conflicting feelings is inherently bad, or somehow immoral to represent through fiction. Sometimes things that make you think and question and wonder are the point of the story. Sometimes you don’t need to rewrite an episode because it made a “mistake.” Success in art lies in whether it transmitted its message to you, not in whether the message itself was somehow logically or ethically “flawed.” You can not agree with a story’s position (I do it all the time!!!) without the story itself being “written wrong.” Sometimes the thing that’s prompting a reaction in you is integral to the story’s point. So let’s get curious about what we mean by “wrong” and what the feeling it’s prompting in us even is. Maybe the story didn’t pace itself in a way that made the outcome feel earned to you, maybe an important shot was poorly composed, etc. BUT what if that pacing was part of the point? What if the shot got the info across just fine, you just disliked the meaning? Maybe it’s just not to your taste — that’s okay! But maybe. Juuust maybe…

I rlly like getting analysis posts on here abt chars from popular stuff I know v little abt bc it’s like

When ppl complain abt how Bad Character TM didn’t suffer enough for their actions, even when that character wound up, like. Exploded or made into pudding it’s pretty baffling ‘til you realize it isn’t really about the severity of the “consequences”. It’s that the only meaningful “consequence” a story can deliver is super specific—loss of all social support. Every other character who ever supported them has to excommunicate them, denounce them, look at the camera and go “you’re pudding for a REASON and I’ll NEVER FORGIVE YOU for being PUDDING”
