Someone asked about buying this piece last night at the Grampians Textures Twilight market. I hadn't planned on selling, as it was an "example of use" for my embellishment lucky dip packs. Unfortunately I didn't think to get her details, but if it was you, or you know who, please get in touch! I like the idea of it hanging in a classroom. I've made up some textile treat bags to take along to the Grampians Textures Twilight market, which is in Halls Gap on Saturday March 16, from 5 until 7. Some have a fat quarter or so of assorted fabrics, the rest have interesting bits and pieces for patchwork or slow stitch. I've sorted a few little packs of mixed buttons, too. Fourth, and last, day of adventures in assemblage in Halls Gap. Blue skies and sunshine today, we spent more time outside, including morning tea time. I bought a rusty old tin at Pickers Market in Stawell yesterday and spent some time figuring out what I want to put on the lid. My plan is to sew the embellishments on, so I need to drill all the holes. I could use fine wire, but at the moment I'm leaning towards linen thread... Providing that sewing through rusty metal doesn't destroy the thread. Then I have to put something inside. From day 2 of adventures in assemblage - the piece became a conversation about guilt and innocence, I think. Along with the vintage Italian Catholic medallions, there's an Easter Bunny medallion. The weather was a bit challenging for this evening's market (gusts of wind sending things flying, and rain threatening) but we got through! Lots of textile ladies, plus some tourists and the odd cockatoo - one hopped on my table and started poking through my stock. I've just finished a bundle of lavender sachets, ready for the @GrampiansTextures twilight market in Halls Gap next Saturday (18 March).
