Summaries of Badgers Old Writing

below the cut are summaries of as many stories of mine as i could find from what looks to be the last 8 years or so (7th grade on up). whatever i left traces of on the internet is Here for the browsing. likely not in an actual order, but ill try and get the oldest stuff first. remember some of this is really old and bad in the i was in 8th grade and didnt know any better kind of way so keep that in mind. also if you really like any of these concepts and want to know more/see snippets of/see me draw the cast/etc i might be able to dig stuff up for you so drop me an ask ok i love talking about my ocs no matter how old and bad they were. im so sorry if youre on mobile. this is long

Something something assassins i dont remember the title: basically what became the essembly. the cast was team ryder’s squad. they had very similar names to what their names are in the essembly, and roughly similar appearances (the cast is significantly more queer and less white among other things now, although a couple cast members were either korean or japanese to begin with so thats where the rest of the casts influence came from). anyways, this group was an underground organization that killed criminals and stuff bc they didnt trust the justice system to do it for them. they were in male/female pairs. i came up with it after a standardized test with my table mate and best friend at the time, since we could only communicate by writing notes back and forth, that’s what came out of it. 

Lights: a simple story about two Heteros who get in a small private plane accident and one of them loses her memory. I think they were named Jace and Darien?

Life+Death:  i dont remember most of the title for this one i know its longer than that. basically a man and woman are spared from the mass death of everyone on earth as some sort of cleanse. he lives in california and is a zookeeper and is tasked with restoring animal life to the planet. she lives in russia and is supposed to bring plant life back. together, in a sort of “Harmony” way they can put life back on earth, and i dont mean that in a cishet procreation way. im pretty sure they were both gay which, go past me,

Guinevere:  this ones all over the place so ill just copy/paste the summary: Her whole life, a little girl is able to know what's going to happen any point in time from now. (It's impossible to change what happens, like, if she sees someone getting shot, in two hours, no one can stop it from happening. It will happen eventually). She sees something happening, something bad, the killing of someone or something. Someone does manage to stop it, way into the future. The stopping creates a Paradox, which breaks the bond between the psychic realm (the one the girl can see into) and reality, causing ghosts, demons, and stuff to enter the real world. There's only one person who can fix the paradox, but sadly he's born 30 years after the girl dies. The girl must leave clues to this guy so that when he's 15 he can stop the paradox.

Criminology High: this is like the only novel-length finished thing that ive done, but to be fair i worked on it with two other people (my best friends in 8th grade). it started out as a bones/ncis crossover self insert thing but we Totally Changed The Names and the self inserts were a little idealized and definitely changed a bit (shitty 8th grade us romanticized some mental illnesses that we didnt have. although from my last reread of it we at least wrote them well lmao). Basically there was a program to get kids into criminal justice, that basically selected kids from an existing database, paired them up with professionals, and had them solve cases. it was a cute premise for 8th graders, and we all co wrote it by passing notebooks around, and i would type them up and update the fanfiction.net page (since archived and deleted). ive liveblogged it before i think . im still really fond of it even tho it was shitty and i was a Cishet in it. at least i was a cishet that liked bugs and autopsies.

Muse (Status Captus): okay this was freshman year and i was really into dr who and anime so this... feels like those to me. i have a list of a couple characters that i dont even /recognize/ which brings my oc total up a couple numbers bc i forgot about them. anyways, as far as i remember of this, theres 4 time travellers that have to stop an evil trio of gods from destroying the world, and they have to find the good gods and team up with them. this got super watered down and became the religeon that another character of mine, codah, practices. it was really steampunk and science fiction iirc. 

Never had a good working title detective: This was honestly one of the things tiny me did that I’m really proud of. The POV character is a blind detective with a small local pd. She goes speed dating and had a really cool best friend. Her work partner was also pretty great. I just wish the crime aspect of it was a little better planned out. Each chapter ended with an interview segment from a biography about her? I think? and it was also written with the explicit intent to be marketed heavily as an audiobook. I even toyed with writing some of it as a script instead, but that never got very far (i was doing that for screnzy one year i think)

HG: New Earth: Okay this is basically hunger games fanfic, but it takes place in a different, post-alien invasion earth, and also hunger games are worldwide and i think a surrogate for war??? which is a dumb concept i guess but we needed an excuse. anyways, the cast was big, and racist. im so sorry @ past me for thinking that. Anyways I spent two years email rping this with a friend of mine. we had a cast of 4 characters that teamed up right away and would always get into Shenanigans in the huge arena that did i mention was all of australia

New Earth: Anyways we took the earth from that universe and made shitty hetalia ocs based off the countries in it. dont look at me. freshman year was bad.

Team 20/20: For a couple years i had a real big obsession with criminal justice (I wanted to be a coroner so I got my hands on all the tru crime and tv shows I could get). Anyways I was pissed off at baby boomers so I made a cast of detectives that are all millennials and also all had weird names, cool colored hair, were big sjws and i think they were all really queer and poly together. and it pissed off their supervisor, an old man named daniel. that was their entire purpose.

Alice: This was an Inception/Eureka crossover sort of thing, although it wasn’t directly either of those. It was a couple of characters chasing a bad guy through the dream worlds and also theyre all really smart. Kind of had an alice in wonderland feel, which is where I assume the main characters name came from.

Shitty Harry Potter Self Insert: This is the oldest out of all of them, but basically her name is Loup, and please, pray tell, can you guess what she was? A werewolf. I usually set her stories in tom riddle’s era, and she was a waitress in hogsmede while going to school.

When It’s Already Been Said: This was a short story I wrote that was about a girl who is mute (i feel like thats not the right term so pls correct me if im wrong) and flies to meet her long distance best friend but after years and years of sending each other letters and she never once mentioned that she cant talk and her best friend is really shitty about it at first but then i think he comes around? i thought i was cool for not writing a romance, and i was also struggling with some nonverbal issues at the time but thats not the same thing and past me didnt really realize that. i submitted this to a short story anthology thing and won and they ended up printing it but its like size 6 font and in tiny columns all over the page. bad.

Time Tourists: This was a fun set of little scenes of this couple who were like in their mid thirties who had a time machine but only used it for attending fancy parties or cool events. basically used it for going on dates instead of anything useful. I originally planned for them to run into some drama on one of their excursions into the past but decided it was more fun to just leave them as having fun. their names were carlotta and rhett. I think rhett was from the past and carlotta from the future? and one of them had a time machine?

Fantrolls:  i really dont want to detail all the stories of my fantrolls but just know they were shitty and i had a lot of them. they weren’t /that/ shitty bc somehow i managed to land a spot on a fantroll help blog for a while

Butterfly: This was a short story that I turned into a poem for an assignment but basically this character (one of my first gay characters that /wasnt/ from new earth or fanfiction) is a teacher at a high school and he’s being haunted by this freaky symbol he found as a kid and he’s dedicated his life to figuring out what the symbol meant. he failed the detectives exams or smth and became a teacher instead, but his best friend is a detective, and i think his boyfriend was also a teacher? cant remember. either way he accidently kills his boyfriend in order to set a trap to force the police to investigate the symbol for him. he meant for the person who died to be someone else.

Insert Disc One: Homestuck rip off. People put a spam disc into their computer and are sucked into a game and have to fight their way out. Hather and RJ were the only two characters i made up for it. Neither have any sort of useful game experience.

TIW:  this has a shitty name so im just shortening it so i dont have to think about it but its basically my fansession. four kids. they do the homestuk thing.

Chase and Gwen: okay i have two extremely fleshed out ocs and literally no story to go with them theyre just really detailed average people. chase works at a record store. gwen is vegan. idk what else to say abt them

Casting Beyond the Moon: Gay Necromancers. started as a short story, then a comic, then the basis of a novel. urban fantasy. one of them is no longer dead.

Eos and Nix: these two girls are in love but separated by cultures. one lives above ground, in the light, another underground, in the dark. it was written epistolary, and exercised voice since the light can only use positive language, and the dark negative.

Levels over Sky: some teenagers/young adults in hell. need to learn life lessons before they can go to heaven. 

Technical Difficulties: A bunch of faeries use their powers for theatre instead of anything actually useful. theyre also all gay and all trans sorry i dont make the rules. theres one cishet on the cast. one.

Neopets Story: All my neopets ocs are on a boat together and its Fun

The Essembly: basically something something assassins only more polished up and with the addition of cj’s team

Mal: Set on a slightly less terrible New Earth, Mal runs away and Codah and Atl have to go find them and also all three of them are in love

 Yellow sands: I call it gay sand tempest bc its abt people getting stranded due to a storm and also theres sand and magic. And Gay.

thoughts on critique??

eeh it needs to be fair but damn is it useful but also??? i always take all critique of art with a hearty dose of salt (in a classroom setting) because everyone in the class is there for the same reason you are: youre bad at art and are going to school for it. at least, usually. ive gotten some pretty terrible critique in my day

also critique is only good if its welcome. while i do kind of preach kill your darlings, there’s sometimes things you’ll write or draw that youre proud of and you really dont want people to shit all over it? maybe later you’ll be open to critique on it but let people like things damn it??????

characters i love writing for: uhhhhhhhhHHHHHH HhhhhhhhHH i loved writing for Mal when i wrote stuff from her pov (tho the story of Mal is told from codah’s pov??) and back in Homestuck Days i wrote a TON for karkat bc he was easiest for me?? lately ive been really wanting to talk from Silfur’s pov but he’s. not a main character i guess hes more secondary for yellow sands but i like his pov the most hes the character from ys i like the most oops

characters i dont like writing for:uhm this sounds weird out loud but older characters, particularly older male characters? like dalinar or kaln hail.. idk theyre just. really out of reach for me

my writing strengths are “not dialogue” where you do shit like “he told her she needed to go. she protested, arguments falling on deaf ears” or something like that where you.. avoid writing the actual dialogue.........for writing resources?? uhh i listen to writing excuses!!! im a bit behind and im missing one or two seasons in the middle i think? but theres a fuckton of episodes so i mean its hard to catch upanyways i.. just absorb writing advice from thereotherwise i dont really use other resources besides rereading things with a similar tone. one thing, if im about to write an essay, ill listen to idea channel before i write because i get into this analytic mind voice

uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh angsty romance? but im not that great at it in hindsight but like.  i love writing romances im shipping trash i care more about the relationships of characters than i do the actual plot of anything whateverr..

a passage from a WIP

okay im going to go through google drive and look for something.. This is from an Essembly fanfic ive been writing for like a year for cj..... ill finish it... eventually... uhm this is the “last” paragraph of it, of what ive written. the beginning of it is kaiden and ryder are left back while their teams are on a mission. the team missed their check in call and its making ryder extremely nervous that something bad happened. its. Straigh.t im sorry

The next ten minutes found the pair on the floor, leaning against the couch, legs stretched under the coffee table. Ryder picked through her chow mein, not quite hungry but needing to do something with her hands. They shake as she lifts her chopsticks to her mouth, sending noodles and cabbage drifting into her lap. She and Kaiden freeze.

"Kai-den, I didn't- I didn't mean to make a mess," she stammers through her words and covers her teary face with her hands, utensils long since scattered to the floor. He was wondering when she would finally break. She pretends it's the first time she's cried into clenched fists at the thought of her team not returning.  He knows this won't be the last time he pulls the box of tissues off the end table and pushes it into her hands. He knows the pattern well. If he tries to help her now, he'll leave with a dislocated shoulder. So he waits, cleaning their dinner up and taking it down the hall to the kitchen. He pours a glass of cool water for her and keys the twins' birthday into the liquor cabinet lock so he can find something strong for himself. Or her, if that's what she decides tonight.

so i wrote a yaoi o_o  it wasn't going to be but i gender-bended shallan so now he's hawt like kaladin! don't like, don't read. rated L for all teh lemony goodness. (a/n: ugh all those reviews that say im ooc need to WATCH THE ANIME AGAIN DUH)

~*Kaladins pov*~

The chasms were dark as night and shallan was rlly cold. The pale shaft of light that managed to reach us in the dark chasm lit his face which was covered in little water drops everywhere. They sparkled. He shivered so i took off my coat and put it around his thin pale frame. "Thanks, k-Kaladin," he says in that quiet nerdy voice. not my usual, but nice. (a/n: see what i did there ^_^??) He shivered. 

"what if we wait here I asked him. "its to cold to keep going." He nods and leans against the wall. I watch him pull my coat around himself tighter and i realize just how pretty he is, for a scholar. A tear rolled down his cheek and his lips quivered. "what's wrong?" i asked.

"i dont want to die alone."  i put my hands on his shoulders and lock his blue orbs with my brown ones.

"you're not alone, I'm here." he looks at the floor

"i mean alone." And i realize d what he meant. 

~*Shallans pov*~

He kisses my forehead and then kisses my mouth. He's all hot and wet b/c the rain earlier and, since he gave me his coat he was shirtless. he lapped hungrily at my mouth, his tongue pressing for entrance. he explored all of my teeth as his hands pushed his coat off my shoulders. I opened my eyes to find his glowing. he was glowing all over; he lifted me in his strong arms and pinned me to the wall. we kissed some more and when he stepped back to undo his belt i realized i was stuck to the wall!

"Kaladin?" I asked him quietly

"What?""Is there something you didnt tell me?"

"Damn," he swore and kissed me again so he wouldnt have to talk. I held his face as we kissed and felt the edges of his cool scars with my thumbs. hot. his steely manhood pressed against my sorta hard member. I cant believe i was doing this! I cried tears of happiness

"Are you okay, shal?" I nodded and wrapped my legs around his waste. I could hear the chasmfiend outside our little room.

"kiss me again!"
