Despite the Patrick Star Show air dates being pulled, I am happy to at least get some episode titles and synopses for season 5. I won't go into all of it but I am really looking forward to Don't Friend the Reaper.
Title referencing The Blue Oyster Club song "Don't Fear the Reaper". I was listening to a cover of this song when I found these new TPSS episodes. I think it was a funny coincidence worth sharing:
Anyways focusing on the episode, I am interested in it obvious reasons of course. I know this episode will be focused on Grandpat but an episode about Death is highly likely to feature Bikini Bottom's friendly neighborhood dead guy Slappy :>
I do hope he gets a good amount of screentime. I know this is just wishful thinking but I really really hope we get a bit of a backstory to Slappy like how he died and stuff. I have been obsessing over this idea lately to the point of writing my own episode plot of this idea but I'd love to see what the show will do.
My idea was centered on it being Slappy's birthday and him getting featured on The Patrick Show for a very special episode as a present to their #1 super fan, only to find that nobody really knows how old Slappy is turning. Which leads to Pat and Squidina realizing that they don't know anything about him in fact. On the quest to find Slappy's true age they find he's been around for a really long time. My idea was much more self indulgent. I like the idea of them digging into Slappy's past and it being a dreamy black and white nightmare of a horror movie of periods of his life. Where he's from and how he lived, how he died, how he's been ressurected, met Nosferatu etc... but they never find his true age. Though his birth date is June 26 (Peter Lorre's birthdate) no year though. Not even Slappy knows that.
I cannot resist yapping about Slappy as you all know. Anyways I doubt any of my ideas will get into this episode. Though for some reason I can picture Grandpat, fufilling Death's duties also has to fill in his personal schedule as well which includes attending events, such as a birthday party. Which can be an excuse to squeeze in Slappy as the birthday boy in this scenario. I can't help but picture Slappy's cake being covered completely with candles since he is just that old. Again this is purely self indulgent to me. An excuse perhaps to confirm Slappy's birthdate or his deathdate or whatever. I would be happy with either
