ok, so grantaire and enjolras are always going to break my heart; i’m never not going to be sad about them
but do you know what makes it just a tiny little bit better? just a smidge - just - the one thing that gives me a tiny ray of happiness
it’s this:
they are next to each other.
they are in their heaven, on their barricade, with the people of france rushing to join their crusade, and they are next to each other
of all the people the filmmakers could have had on either side of enjolras, they let grantaire be one of them, and i will forever be thankkful for that because they are in heaven and they are standing side by side, i am emotional
