Got off my scarf making hyper fixation and made something else. Making me a custom cotton dress. So far at the end of two cones and have a 3rd to finish it. Top is made of 24 grannie squares with some single crochet straps. Double crochet the skirt part with two slits in the sides for pockets. Yarn is peaches and cream's creamsicle ombre

Christmas gift I made for my sister. It took me most of a month to make and only finished sewing on the buttons on Christmas eve. Made with acrylic yarn, some buttons and was about a size 2-3x I think.

Grannie square scrap blanket that my mom started that I finished last year. It is made of mainly blue and green scrap acrylic yarn balls. It's fairly big at 53 inches across.

One of the things that inspired me to make a massive Grannie Square was a blanket that I had in my room when I was younger. I managed to dig it out recently and got some photos. My Mum thinks my Nana made it. My Nana says she didn’t. Family mystery! It’s at least 20 years old anyway.

The blanket is only about 1m square, although it seemed huge when I had it.

I have learnt to make a grannie square. I have done some crochet in the past and learnt some of the basics, but I haven’t done anything with it in so long I thought a refresher was due. I watched this video… I am a very visual learner, so I need someone to show me in person, I find reading instructions for a new skill without a 3D explaination very slow going.

Making up the blanket

Everything is crocheted!!

Now time to work out my layout. I arranged all the small squares on the floor. I ended up making 42 when I only needed 36. This was good though as I ended up not using a couple of the colours that didn’t quite sit right and I could choose the best of the rest.

The yellow one was very bright when put into a boarder that was mainly blues.
