tbh the one thing i really regretted about writing Nero was that I never got the chance to express just how appreciative he was of Credo taking him under his wing and raising him. I was super glad when DMC 5 touched on how he feels his greatest failure was being unable to save Credo. That Nero's desire for power comes out of a need to protect those he cares for. He acts rough on the surface, but deep down he's thinking with his heart first and foremost. And people were really out here trying to be like Nero isn't Vergil's son, fuck outta here.
